happy 2010!!!

In just 4 hours we'll be celebrating 2010. In just a few minutes we're on our way to my hubby's cousin's place, we decided to spend our New year's eve there. Tomorrow we'll be at Universal Studios, hubby and my SIL got us all yearly passes! (woo-hoo!)

I am thankful for a lot of stuff this year... Thank you, God...

Hope everyone will have a safe and prosperous new year. Peace, Love and happiness to all! cheers!

Justice served

I am so glad our rear bumper has been finally fixed. Thank God for that, because It wasn't really our fault. A few days after the accident, We saw our neighbor's car - and his rear bumper all fixed. He knew that it was indeed his fault, because In my opinion if it wasn't my fault I would wait until the investigation was over so I can claim the insurance on what needs to be done, I am not paying out of the pocket to fix my damages. It took them long enough though, It wasn't hard to see that It was the old man's fault, he wasn't looking on his right side when he was backing up. At least, justice was served (LOL) Our Insurance did a great job. Speaking of insurance, I need to head on over to wholesaleinsurance.net to get some life insurance quotes, I might find something good so I can tell hubby about it.

christmas decors

SIL had already decided for the color theme of her tree next year: Blue and White. That would be fabulous, don't you think? If we had our own home to decorate It, this is what my home would look like.

- I'd like to have a tall Christmas tree with all the ornaments you can think of, store bought and home made in the living room area with a Christmas skirt and presents all around. :)

- There would be a basket sitting in the living room table filled with Christmas cards that We've received from everyone. Cinnamon sticks wrapped in silver ribbon and balls would fill the air with that Christmassy feel.

- In the fireplace, if there's one - on top would be a Christmas garland, pine cones, white candles, Christmas balls, holly berries, and the monogrammed Christmas stockings.

- We would have a snowman and Santa stuffed toys close to the tree.

- Christmas towels in the kitchen and some red candles with some holly berries in the dining area on a Christmas table runner.
- Some clear Christmas lights outside the porch.

- A christmas wreath with red ribbons and holly berries hanging in front the door.

- If we have a two storey home, I'd like to have some Christmas garland wreath lined up on the stairs with Christmas balls and Red ribbons.

I think that's about it. I don't really like lining up the house with Christmas lights, because I don't want to end up with a huge electric bill, that's for sure.

When we visited my hubby's cousin last week I fell in love with their home because of how it was decorated. Upon our arrival, we noticed some lighted candy canes on the bushes. When we walked up to their front door, there were 3 white candles sitting on sprigs of evergreen were flickering in front of the window. And There were 2 miniature Christmas trees sitting by the door, one on each side, wrapped with clear christmas lights.

Their living room had a huge fresh tree adorned with elegant ornaments. There were monogrammed Christmas stockings in the fireplace, clear Christmas lights were wrapped around the fireplace and A tall clear glass was filled with gold Christmas balls. (sigh) I can't wait to have our own home where I can decorate it the way I want it to be. Now that Christmas is over, It's almost time for the new year!

so sicky

For the past few days ever since my cold started when we were in Disneyland my whole family got sick, too. My little boy woke up with a fever, so we gave him a sponge bath and kept on giving him Tylenol. So far he's OK now after taking a nap this afternoon, thank God. It's hard getting sick nowadays. I'm just glad we had our flu shots done we don't have to worry about anything. I guess it's my fault, even If I had the cold I had to go along the Grizzly river run at California Adventure. We were soaking wet after that ride. I was in my worse state when we were in line at Toy Story Midway Mania (I enjoyed that one!) I was miserable because I wasn't feeling well so we went home at 4:30. I couldn't stand the whole trip because of my watery eyes and clogged up nose. Well, I need to finish up a few things online but I need to read more information about the Medicare supplement at Gomedigap.com I might refer some people someday, It will be sure useful.

Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas)

Before Christmas day ends I would like to make a toast to all my dear friends for putting up with me these past years, I am thankful for a lot of things and that Includes meeting new people, bonding more with my family and continuing the Love and friendship that is all around us. I'd like to express my feelings but I'd rather save it for the last post of the year before we enter 2010. We had a great day yesterday, Attended the 7 pm mass and went on our way to the Christmas party. We had loads of fun and went home around 2 am. As sleepy as we all were, we managed to opened all our gifts and took family pictures at the end of the night. It was indeed a great Christmas. I was a bit sad when I was in church, though - I miss my brother Gully so much, if only he were here with us celebrating Christmas... I am thankful we got to spend his first Christmas with us back in 2007. I wanted to break down and cry but instead I prayed very hard because I know wherever he is right now he is a happy contented person. He's the reason why our lives changed and I think he might have talked to God about that. And speaking of lives changing - We visited my mom this morning and we were all happy, but that's another story so let's save it for another day. :) I hope you guys had a great time celebrating Christmas with your families as well.

Merry Christmas and to all a goodnight!

deck the halls

After visiting Disneyland last Oct. 31st, 2009 - we are about to go there again tomorrow! We all purchased the Deluxe pass and It was sooo worth it! We're just going to pay $60+ for the 3 of us every month for about a year, how great is that? I'm off tomorrow and We'll be leaving by 5 Am, we'll be spending another great day at the happiest place on earth. :D For sure we'll be back there again in a few months. Hopefully we can go to Orlando some other time. We're also planning on a trip to LA sometime soon, As well as San Francisco, too. :) If you haven't seen the Disneyland photos yet, come on over to facebook!

Our home is all decked out for christmas, how about you? my SIL and I decorated the tree with the theme of black and Gold, in honor of the Steelers ;). I haven't finished my christmas cards yet, boy - I am soooo behind as always.

You can't really appreciate the tree because of the flash, I'll post a christmas pic of us the next time. Anyhoo, I gotta head on to dreamland before the hubby wakes up and finds out I'm still online (LOL).

Hope you guys have a wonderful christmas and a happy joyous new year!!! :)

his 37th year...

I love you, Mahal! happy 37th birthday!!

Reese and Kit-kat

Guess who I met last night?? It was my old blog friend, Reese! She entered the commissary around 7:45 pm 15 minutes until closing time, she was with her hubby and her cutie son. I finally met her! we b after a foth hugged. After a few years on keeping in touch online I finally met the loving, sweet Reese! I knew I would meet her someday. Too bad none of us had cameras on us plus I was working and she was in a hurry. I would hope to see her again someday and maybe have lunch with her or something. Nice to meet you, sis Reese! I'm so gald to meet you finally in person. :) She's my 2nd online friend that I've met in person and they're both military wives.

christmas breeze

I was off today, can you imagine that? my first weekend off since I started at work. I was very lucky and privileged to be given a sunday off. So We hit it off at an early start today, went to church around 9 am and after that went somewhere in Balboa and ate at a chinese restaurant, we pigged out on shrimp! :) anyways, after that we went to Fashion Valley and shopped for some christmas gifts. Victoria's secret was packed! Also went to Bath and Body works to buy some scented candles. We got home around 4:15 pm and my sister-in-law finally decided to bring out the tree (a bit late but still OK), and in about 2 hours we finished decorating the house. It's about partially done, We still need some Gold ornaments for the tree as well as some gold ribbon. This year they've decided their theme would be black and Gold (They love the steelers - ;) ) I decorated the wreath with red ribbons and SIL found a spot to hang it outside the door. My niece had also set up the Manger scene which was sooo cute. SIL assembled the tree and hung up the stockings, we needed 2 more to make it 6. We'll probably drop by Walmart to purchase some more christmas items. I am so behind my online tasks, I need to check out some Cyber Monday deals they have at Buy.com It might give me some more gift ideas I need to buy for family and friends.

Christmas wishlist 2009

Well, well, well... we've come across again for another yearly wishlist talk. As you all know I have my wishlist and I know, I know... I won't be getting all these in just one time. So to satisfy the shoppaholic in me I only have a few in mind and here they are:

The top of the list is a digital SLR camera. It could be a Nikon or Canon rebel. :)

second, A Sony - Reader Touch Edition Digital Book. So I can have all my ebooks with me and I can read anywhere at anytime. sweet. :)

Third, a Cricut machine! but I promised myself I will only get this when we have our own home someday. I'll be so happy with this, It will be the ultimate scrapping machine ever. :)

and oh yeah, an iPhone (again). hubby promised he'll get me another one after a failed one we purchased last year, that thing went berserk on me! But I'm going to miss my blackberry curve though, hubby will be adopting my blackberry when he gets me this. :)

Last November 29, my husband and my sister-in-law as well as the kids arrived from a tiring trip back from Las Vegas. And guess what he got me???

Well, what do you know? He got me a Coach bag instead! Not on my wish list after all. I was sooo happy, because as you guys know I'm not a brand conscious lady and I'm happy with hubby spoiling me with gadgets instead of designer stuff. I was expecting he'd get me the Sony eReader but It's ok, I'm happy with this baby. My advanced Christmas gift. :D plus he told me he wasn't really approving for the Sony reader because of a bad review he got from a best buy associate. bummer! but that's ok, he will get me that eReader someday. What he wants to get me is a digital SLR (no kidding!), but that would wait until next year, besides, May is just around the corner (wink, wink).

water softeners

Me and my buddies back in Pearl harbor were talking about how nowadays there are lots of great inventions being brought up and different kinds of water filters are popping up in the market. You can't really blame the people of today, They are health conscious and It is really important no matter what you say. This mother earth of ours is full of waste and even though it comes in our faucet clean, you just don't know what's in it anymore. One of my buds said back in their generation when they were younger they got water from a well and drank from a giant clay pot and she said they turned out ok, which I still remember when I was younger when I visited my grandparents back in the province. I did get to experience that and I didn't get sick at all. But the world we have today, It's a totally different story. You might want to visit Aquatell.com, They have this water softener that removes calcium and magnesium from water making it soft. Oh, and take note - It will also leave hair and skin feeling smoother and less dry. Wow, that's a great benefit to know.

unexpected true friends

Going into my fourth week at my new work place, I can say that I am very comfortable now than on my first week. Finding true friends is a really hard task, but I trust my own instincts and I can truly distinguish who are the real ones from the fakes. I don't judge people because I don't want myself to be judged by other people as well. So from time to time I spark up a conversation between my co-workers and I when I get a chance and each day you would really know who are the sincere ones. I am thankful because majority of the people at work have accepted me with open arms. I had made friends with different people from all walks of life and I had noticed that the true friends are the ones you wouldn't think you would be friends with e.g., The grumpy ones.
So next time you come across a person who is not smiling at all, just give that person a smile and believe me you guys will hit it off. Based from experiences I had gained great friendship with people I didn't expect that I'd be friends with.

the battle is over

I'm off tomorrow and We'll be taking the Van to the shop, by the way - we won! won what? You see It happened a few weeks ago, we were parked behind my sister-in-law's house which was the guest parking. It was a T shaped driveway and we were already at the middle of the T when it happened, our neighbor was backing up without even looking at his back. I won't elaborate anymore details because the battle has now ended (took them long enough). It was only finalized yesterday that's why were so happy. The left rear bumper was damaged so tomorrow we're going to have it repaired with no cost to us. :) Before I continue browsing other site's I want to check out this website that offers industrial supplies, I might find something we need here at home.

kettlebells

That's my first time hearing about Kettlebells. Any one of you know what that is? I just found out right now what they really were. They're actually dumbbells and It has a unique design, not your ordinary dumbbell. I'm going to the gym right now and It's actually working out for me, So If you tried the gym and you are getting nowhere, try Kettleworx's Kettlebells, They are made from high-grade alloys and they have a vinyl coated body for durability and added safety. You can just choose what weight of a kettlebell you need right from their website. I promise myself after I shed my pounds I would try to tone up my arms with a kettlebell, I'm serious. It looks cute, too It reminds me of a toy because of how it looks. SO, what are you waiting for? try Kettleworx now!

Vegas (sigh)

Oh yes, you might be asking about the title. I can't believe I didn't get to go on a Las Vegas trip! bummer. But that's ok, I have work anyway and we have our medical, I'm the one paying for it - that's the main thing. Hubby was hesitant at first because I wasn't going with them but I insisted that he can go along with his sister and cousins. The kids were with them, too. After the Thanksgiving dinner we had around 1 am they continued on to their trip to Vegas. Hubby's cousins dropped me off at home and I had to sleep alone at 2 am. Got up in the morning around 5:15 I was sooooo tired. Plus I had the sniffles that night and I wasn't feeling good at all but I still went ahead and drove to work anyway. hubby promised me we would go to Vegas again one of these days. Well, that's alright. :) As long as they have fun, I really don't care if I missed the trip plus I'll avoid spending money, too hehehe. They'll be coming home in a few hours probably around 11 pm. And I'm thankful coz hubby asked one of his aunt's to accompany me here in the house while they were gone, isn't that nice? At least I have somebody to talk to. Well, she just left awhile ago It's about 8:23 pm, I'm now alone again. :( anyhoo, They'll be here in no time. Plus, hubby's got a surprise for me according to Celina. I wonder what it is? I'll try not to get too excited hahaa! gotta finish some pending tasks.
Oh, last night I was bidding at ebay for a 32 GB flashdrive for the hubs - and I won! my competitor waited until the last second but I was so quick clicking the button so I got it for $11.58. whew!

The real deal

Ok, so some of you know that I started working out at the gym again, right? Well, since hubby started to enroll me at LA fitness last Oct 1st I've been shedding pounds non-stop. I've lost 23 lbs. so far and I'm loving it! I'm not gonna update my pics yet, coz I have to lose a lot more before I do that. We spent Thanksgiving along with hubby's relatives, So before we ate me and the hubs stepped onto the weighing scale and I lost 10 lbs this month with a total of 23 lbs! I'm so inspired. really, this is it I've been longing for this wish to come true. I go to the gym like 3 times a week after work and I eat normal. I still eat rice, but not too much. I just stay away from sweets as much as possible. But what's important about it is I don't have to starve myself in order to lose weight. exercise is the key to get my metabollism going. Before, I was always looking for the right appetite suppressant but I guess none of those worked for me after all. But it may work for some of you, it depends though. Before you try anything be sure to consult your doctor first if it is right for you.

moving around

Everybody moves around from one place to another, and It's really a hassle especially if you are doing it yourself, right? I remember back in Hawaii moving was really terrible, I'm glad we were just moving to a new floor. I can't imagine if we would be moving all our stuff to the mainland, It's going to be a pricey one that's for sure. SO if you guys are planning on relocating to a new place, fear no more for there are lots of moving companies out there like the long distance movers over at Moveeast.com. Visit their website for more information or you can simply call them for a free moving quote anytime you need it.

New moon

I finally saw New moon last night, after the long anticipated wait - I finally saw it!!! what can I say? I love the movie!! and I am not going to talk about spoilers here. If you haven't watched the movie yet, please do so ASAP. The only different thing about New moon is the color of the settings, It's missing that bluish lighting back in the first movie. But just like what Ms. Stephenie Meyer said on her website, every director has their own way of showing their own version and so are people when they begin reading the books. I can't believe New moon is now showing, can you believe it?? and according to the Eclipse movie website Eclipse has wrapped up filming!!! OMG, and They'll be showing it around JUNE. how about that?(hyperventilating) relax. It's just 7 months away. breathe.

I am so impressed by Taylor Lautner's new buff bod. He did a great job to make sure that he'll be retained in the next movie. I was glad he still made the part, he's really suited for Jacob Black's character. :) patience, faith and reward like what they always say.

I can't wait for ECLIPSE!!!

no kids allowed (yeah, right)

I overheard a couple of young girls a few days ago and they were all talking about having children. The other one pulled on a disgusted face and raised her palms in front of her saying she and her husband don't want any kids. Not anytime soon, but for good. She already handled her nieces and nephews and it wasn't good. I'm like - 'really?' She would look young right now but there will come a day she would want to have her own children, but what if that day comes and you are not fit to have children anymore, right? regrets will come at the end and There is nobody to blame but yourself. something to think about, right?
I had some friends back in high school and college who vowed to stay away from motherhood because of their experiences with some children. Others are afraid to ruin their precious bodies... pffft... physical beauty is nothing but skin deep, true beauty lies within. Nothing beats the happiness of being a mother. Be proud because that is a blessing from God. ;)

going to Miami

Definitely not me. But my husband, my son, his sister and her kids as well as some of their cousins are driving to Vegas after Thanksgiving, I'm so sad because I was hoping to come, too. hubby's planning on going the next time so I can be with him, but I insisted that he has to go, besides I have work and I'll be gone all day anyway. It's alright, there is always a next time ;). So how about sunny Miami? I have dreams of going there, too. I love the beaches there, everytime I watch the travel channel I can't help but dream to visit that place someday. How about you? Do you want to visit Miami someday? If any of you are interested here's a miami vacation package just for you, go check it out and see for yourself, If it's a good deal grab it while you can.

a USB for you

Up to now I am still so upset about my files being wiped out for good. I can't do nothing anymore but sigh. We can't undo the past, that's for sure so all I have to do is just start out fresh and keep on backing up my files so next time there are no more regrets. I'm thinking of purchasing a Custom flash drive from Flashdealer.com, They have great selections and guaranteed low prices. And if you are having a party of any kind take note, These can make great giveaways! Isn't that wonderful? Well, I'm going to continue to shop around their site to see if I can find something great for the hubs, he loves flashdrives! he uses it for our WD media player.

angry + happy

I'm pissed... because a few days ago my laptop crashed because I clicked on something and took over my whole computer with spyware! wiped out most of my files grrrr.... hubby was about to sleep but I asked him to fix it, he was a bit irritable (of course, who wouldn't?) but he did manage to get up and restore my computer. I actually cried when he told me that everything was wiped out, he teased me after that because I acted like a baby. I cried under the sheets and he was irritated at me for doing that. Well, I do blame myself for not backing up my files and It's a lesson to be learned. Luckily I had back ups of all my family pictures, thank God. What really hit me so bad was all my digital scrapbook files, the hoarded freebie kits and A lot of the kits and elements I bought from my favorite shops - ALL GONE! I do have a back up of SOME kits that I purchased, but A lot of my favorite ones are goooooone! booooo.
Anyhoo, I'm happy because I start work tomorrow at the SD naval base commissary (fingers crossed) I hope my first day would turn out ok. It's a large store like Pearl Harbor commissary and I am very privileged to get to work there. Now, gotta get some sleep! take care and God bless....

what to expect

Me and the husband are always talking about our future. I feel very uncomfortable talking about death now. But if you try to look at it, It is very wise to talk about it now than wait until that day comes. Even If I dislike talking about it there's nothing we can do because that's how life is and we have to be prepared. My husband just tries to make things clear for me because he told me that he had come a long way and he knows I need to prepare myself of what to expect in case of emergency. If you don't have any life insurance at the moment, you might want to think about getting a life insurance online at wholesaleinsurance.net because you know It will save you and your family the burden of unexpected things in life.

say cheese

Ever since I was a kid my dad promised us we would have our teeth fixed which never did happen. My niece's braces would soon be coming off and her brother will soon have his some day. I really wanted to get my teeth fixed, seriously - for once I want to be comfortable smiling in front of people. As soon as my dental insurance is fixed because I don't have a good coverage right now and It might cost us a lot from our own pocket, we don't want that. If your having dental problems check out a Plano dentist at davidwilhitedds.com with their exceptionally trained staff They will give you that great smile that you deserve.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

We'll be at Disneyland tomorrow and on Sunday at California Adventure. So boils and ghouls, have a great spooktacular Halloween!

be protected

Nowadays, there's so much identity theft going on, It's pretty scary. You don't know who to trust anymore. I remember before we moved here in the mainland We had a box full of important documents to be shredded, my husband didn't want to pay a certain amount just for one box so he asked me to shred it myself just to be extra sure, It was really tiring but worth it because you know that your identity is safe. If you are one of the million people who is worried by Identity theft you should consider this identity theft protection. Read all about it at Nextadvisor.com.

Treadmills

It's been a month yesterday (the 29th) since we last moved here in San Diego. I started going to the gym since Oct 1st, and as of the 3rd week I have lost 13 lbs. I know it will take some time but it's all worth it. My hubby's cousin is my gym buddy and I am really inspired to lose weight because of her motivation to do so. I go to the gym everyday, but sometimes I do miss 2 days in a week due to some stuff we need to finish. I love using the treadmills once in awhile, I can just go for an hour when I'm by myself but I try to cut it to 30 minutes at least because the gym only allows 20 minutes use per person. I love my cycling and cardio kickboxing classes, I feel like my fat melts away everytime I break a sweat. Me and my gym buddy spend an hour everyday at the gym, It feels so good! :) All I can say is exercising does positive things to you. ;)

lil critters

As my husband was driving the kids to school by Wolf Canyon elementary I finally got to see a real coyote! I was staring at something and thought it was some kinda log but it suddenly moved like it was eating something. I was amazed, seriously. Then my nephew informed me that there are lots of wolves and coyotes near their newly built school. Then there was this day when hubby was driving again as we were dropping Nate to Eastlake elementary we saw a dead raccoon on the side of the road. That was my first time to see a raccoon. Back in Hawaii you won't really see a lot of animals like that roaming around. From time to time you'd only see lots of mongooses running around the field as well as geckos and birds on the ground. I am looking forward to see more animals like a skunk perhaps (LOL). :P

hello from San Diego!

If you're expecting pictures - please, please, please... I'm still not in the mood to upload any photos from our trip. I'm just so lazy nowadays.. blehh. I don't really take much pictures here in my SIL's house, I respect her privacy.
So how are you guys doing? How are we doing? We're doing just great, thank you. I missed blogging sooo much. I try my best to squeeze in some time to finish some of my tasks online and visit some blogs. Believe me I do visit but I never comment.
We arrived here in San Diego around Sept. 29 and It was a tiring trip, too. We currently live here in Chula Vista. such an awesome place! So far we've been very busy... and yours truly is VERY busy going to the GYM! It feels good to be back working out, I am so inspired with lots of people, I'm thankful I have a gym buddy (my hubby's cousin) she motivates me so much. I only eat rice at least once a week. Me and hubby had turned our eating habits around, and it feels good! I noticed every time I come home from my workout my face is very clear, remember when I used to complain about how my chin had never ending zits because of hormonal imbalance? not anymore! It's amazing what working out does to you, I'm also addicted to cycling, that's the best. I tried kickboxing yesterday and whoah - I was exhausted, but pumped! I promise myself that I'll give myself a year to reach my target weight. I go to the gym every day and after working out I feel contentment of what I have accomplished that day. I don't eat sweets anymore and If we go fastfood I try to be smart on what I order.
And oh yeah, around Oct. 3, hubby's cousins we're testing their blood and when he got tested he sure had the highest reading. No wonder the past few weeks he was constantly drinking lots and lots of water, and he was eating a lot, too - he even told me that he feels like he's so thirsty all the time, and he goes to the bathroom every 15 to 20 minutes. When we were weighing our baggages he suddenly checked his weight and saw that he dropped 40 lbs! he even complained to his sister that he has a hard time seeing without his glasses. I never knew that those we're the symptoms of Diabetes :(. He was diagnosed with Diabetes, but the doctors are not sure what type, though.
My husband is OK now, he doesn't eat rice anymore as well as sweets. He learned how to eat leafy vegetables unlike before he wouldn't eat any of it. He's always walking now and for the past week I saw his log book filled with great readings. thank God... It's a lesson to be learned and a wake up call for us. We need to take care of our body before it's too late.
Our Van comes in around the 14th at Long Beach, so I am so excited! I miss the van so much. I don't like driving low cars, I feel like I'm about to be squashed. I've never seen any of my classmates yet, especially my friend who's hubby is in the Navy (they're both my classmates of different year levels). They are trying to buy a house by Otay Ranch, pretty close by near my SIL's home here at Rancho Del Rey in Bonita. So far, the mainland is so different from the Islands. Hawaii has more Aloha spirit and I can't seem to find that here :(. Oh well...

The price of food here is so cheap! Walmart has a gallon of milk of $2 something while 1 gallon of milk in Hawaii costs 8 bucks! yikes - big difference! When I started driving here I always have to remind myself I have to drive 45 or 50 on regular roads :) unlike in Hawaii we drive normally 25 to 35 MPH. :)
In other news, Nathan went to his cousins school and his first day was today, he did a great job according to the green color he received today. We're praying he won't be relocated to another school anymore because all the 1st grade rooms are overflowed so we're still waiting for the news. Last week, My SIL urged me to visit the admin area of the SD naval base commissary at 32nd and I was glad I did. I'm just waiting for a positive news now. SD commissary by 32nd is huge! kinda like Pearl Harbor. They have 21 aisles while Pearl harbor has only 18.
We drove to National City and I was so glad there's jolibee and chowking there! National City is like the Waipahu of Hawaii, lots of pinoys live there and lots of the establishments there are from Pinoys, it's really great. feels like home. I enjoyed Sea food city, It reminds me of 99 ranch in Hawaii where we always go to pick up large tilapias and have it cleaned and fried (yum). To end my story here, I think I will learn to love San Diego like I did back in Hawaii.

Anyhoo, I'd like to blab some more but I am so sleepy now. (yaaaaawn) Adios!

Aloha, Hawaii!

This was taken on my potluck (Sept. 15, 2009) Hello Kitty cupcakes courtesy of Shawn and Jan, my lil best friends at work. Thank you, my Pearl Harbor commissary family! Until we meet again! mahalo nui loa!

I'm too tired to update my blog with pics as well as my flickr. In just a few hours our internet will be gone so I'll be on hiatus for about a month, we leave the island around Sept. 29th. I'll be focusing more on losing weight once I get to the mainland, so bid me goodluck and hoping I could lose A LOT. Thank you, friends! It was a great ride and I will miss all of you...

Safety first, people

My husband freaks out when he forgets his Safety vest, so when he's half way from home he drives all the way back just to get it. He works at the airport for A cargo company that's why he really needs it because they are always on the runway most of the time. Safety is very important when it comes to any job and We need those Safety equipment like safety vests In order to be protected, because you never know what might happen just one day when you're on the job. Anything can happen and that's pretty scary. I've heard some stories at work especially at the warehouse who got into an accident because they didn't take any precaution and hadn't wear any safety gear at all. themanstoreonline.com has some Discount Safety vests, so protect our workers and give them the safety gear they need now.

Happiest place on earth

Yay! we'll be seeing the whole gang by October! me and the fam are soooo excited. It's been 5 years since we've visited Disneyland as well as Universal and Sea world. As I was throwing out some stuff from the storage boxes I found these maps and some Disney napkins, too. goodness, I really miss Disneyland. :) My little one is quite happy, too always asking us 'Are we going to the mainland now?'. (LOL) Sooo cute! When he was 2 years old my sister-in-law and her whole family brought Nate to Disneyland Tokyo, soooo I'm not sure if he remembers it at all unlike now, we're complete and he's 6 plus he passes some of the height limit for certain rides, too.

I bid you Adieu, Acne

What's the terrible thing I hate most in this world? ACNE! Yes, Acne. As soon as they appear anywhere I just wanted to zap them away. But lately, since my system is going haywire Zits just appear non stop from my chin area. They don't really come all at once but After a zit disappears another one pops out, and when it's under the skin - oh, boy! It hurts so bad. The pain is unbearable, I'm telling you. My son usually wrestles with me and jumps on me, his tiny little hands just goes all around my faceea hurting my chin area where the zit is. I hate pimple scars and I do have a lot of them, by the way. Makes me want to check out acne treatments over at getacnetreatments.com I hope one day I could find the best treatment for my Acne It's just driving me insane to tell you the truth.

dreams...

Me and my husband usually chat before we go to bed. It's a habit of ours. We just don't say 'I love you, sweet dreams' and call it a night. We share a lot of our feelings and we always plan everyday and for our future. He's so excited to move to the mainland, of course - so last night, he Started planning that once we get our own home It will the perfect dream house for us. Since we got rid of all the hand me downs from my sister-in-law he wants to have a 4 bedroom home with new furniture in it. When I was watching TV one day this host says that when you buy your dream home and want great furniture in it you must invest on those pieces one by one, don't just buy them all at one time or else you'll regret it. It's a great idea if you ask me, I'd rather buy things one at a time, It will give you an idea on how you want your house to look and from there you'll build a great comfortable home with lovely pieces that you can treasure forever. It's so funny because my husband was having a great time planning on what our home would look like someday, he's even excited to have a Patio so he can have a place where he can grill! Of course when you have Patio furniture you will definitely have to get some patio furniture covers, too. That will protect them from any kind of harsh weather. I want my Patio furniture to be protected so It will last longer, I'm the type of person who values her stuff very much.

bye, Pearl Harbor...

Farewell, My Friends © Mild G. Calingo

My friends to you I bid goodbye To the friendship that brought me sky The year has been swell As if coming from a wishing well But as all things do I have to bid adieu How it pains me to But there's nothing I can do Thank you for the memories The laughter and the tears They'll linger in my heart As if we never part If by chance we meet again May it be full of blessings in the rain Yet for now all that I can say Is to God for you I'll pray.

Just feeling a lil emotional right now since my last day on the 15th. I actually cried when my friend from work hugged me that night before we all parted ways. I can't believe I am moving away from them... they are all my best friends and To me they are my second family. I would never forget them. I am so blessed meeting them. I sure treasure The kindness and hospitality they've showed me after all these years. When I came to work friday, I was surprised to see that there were signs for my potluck everywhere! We were supposed to have a little gathering in the cash cage instead on my last day but I guess they wanted to do it the next day. Hubby cooked spaghetti that saturday morning and he helped me drop it off before lunch time. I got a text from Jan saying that I had to come at 12 noon. As soon as I went home, I went straight to the shower and of course I arrived at 12:30 at work, there were lots of food and there were about 3 cakes in total. I received a lot of lei's that day... I feel sooooo sad. On my last day, we had a little potluck in the cash cage My supervisor brought us haupia and Chantilly cake, Jan brought me a gift basket filled with island goodies plus popeyes chicken, ate Ana brought her pancit while I brought garlic buttered shrimp and rice. I promised that night was the last pig out night. I feel so big (because I am really BIG, seriously.) Today I started doing some crunches and some stretches, tomorrow I start my 3 mile walks and that will be everyday from now on. You don't really see a lot of pictures in me lately because I hate myself in pictures... I totally blew it, big time.

Well, I received some gifts as well the best one was a huge picture with a Hawaiian woman on the front, all around it front and back was filled with the sweetest messages from the whole store. Jo ann was behind that gift and It was so sweet of her, too... She was also real emotional on the day of my potluck, I saw her teary eyed. After all these years working with her, I never did know how emotional she was. She was a workaholic and a lot of people don't really get a long with her. But I love her, we all do... They say, you never fully know a person until you've worked with them. That was so true. Thank you so much, my Pearl Harbor commissary family I would never forget you all...

Since I'm officially off from work I might just update my flickr now! maybe after fixing some of my files here I'll get to it soon. :)

The problem with zits

I think I have some hormonal balance going on. My skin is going haywire! I guess that's what happens when you don't have enough sleep and eat the wrong type of foods your body just gets out of control. My last day off work was around the 15th and I am so glad I can get plenty of rest after. It's just the last few months my chin has been having zits non-stop. Every time I have my period I would have at least one zit, nothing more than that - but now I am so depressed on how my skin is acting lately. They pop out one after another, It's just crazy. It's only around the chin area, but around everywhere else is fine. I am trying out one product right now and It seems like it's not showing any results at all. Maybe I can visit Acnetreatment.com for the best acne treatment, I am so desperate for having clear skin again like I used to. Stress and a lot of factors can sure affect our skin I just hope I can find the right acne treatment that really works. oh well...

Dale Carnegie CS training course

Had our Dale Carnegie customer service Training course yesterday. It was my day off so it kinda sucked for me to be at work for 8 long hours. boo. But you know what? It sure went well! I expected it to be a boring class but it wasn't. My class consisted of all associates from different parts of the store as well as the management, they were all there. It was very nice to interact

I did admire the trainers, they sure were passionate talking 8 hours almost everyday with every group. It was a fun class, more on group talks, more on interactions than just listening to the trainer up front. and they would rotate us with different people every now and then. It was funny coz we had to give out scenarios based from what we've learned and we have to apply the best example on what we had to do to correct it. I had to speak twice coz I got voted for team captain, I tried not to be a trouble maker (lol). It was nice working with the superiors at work, at least that way the management and their employees can exchange what really goes on from both parties.

It's my day off today, that means, cleaning the house and laundry for me. bummer.

need office furniture?

It's hard when you're not organized with your stuff and it's also hard when you don't have the space and right furniture to put all your stuff in. But there's a great solution to that, take a quick look at this website called Ofconcepts.com where they feature all of your office furniture needs. Someday when we'll have our own space I would definitely love to have my own workspace at home where I can put all my stuff so I can keep it all organized at the same time I can work in peace on whatever projects I'm working at. There's lots of selections to choose from different manufacturers. Plan your office now and shop at Ofconcepts.com.

special recap

Gosh, time sure flies by when you're having fun! :) I miss blogging so much, and I miss visiting my sisters online. offline life has been very busy so I'm here to just give you guys a lil recap of what's been happening lately. Last August 17 was my brother Gully's 1st year death anniversary, I'm so sad coz I haven't finished his memorial site yet, will make sure I get that done before we leave Hawaii. That day came a special surprise, I'm pretty sure Gully asked this from God because it HAD to happen on that day! :) the night before my supervisor came up to me and told me if I can come to work to speak to our director she wasn't sure what it was about and from hearing that news I felt a sudden swirl of butterflies inside me, I felt sick to the stomach.

So the next morning, the visitors from headquarters came and visited our store, every one of us came up to them and presented them a lei. An hour and a half later I finally got called to the training room, and I couldn't believe it I was chosen among the recognized employees from our store, I was sooooo happy you couldn't even imagine! I received a gold and silver coin, It was a special moment for me and I thanked God for that.

Next was August 20, my son's 6th birthday. We dropped off the treats and ice cream at school in the morning and in the afternoon we went to Dave and Buster's and played some games. When we went home we had a small round chocolate and vanilla cake and took a few family pictures. Awesome day I'd say. :)

We're leaving the Island officially on the 29th. I finally got my request for transfer to another Commissary, I'm just praying that I'd get a spot right away to one of the commissaries in San Diego. So happy I can retain my status and not resign anymore. I'm gonna pass it tomorrow to our secretary, (crosses fingers) hope I can get a position right away.

I'll keep in touch... will post pics on facebook and flickr. ;)

wow to copper sinks

I was browsing around coppersinksstore.com and saw these lovely copper sinks. Don't get me wrong, I'm really not keen on copper sinks, but the designs I just saw at that website was really stylish for me, maybe I'll probably have one installed in one of our bathrooms when we have our own home someday. All hand hammered copper sinks are beautifully handcrafted and made from Mexico and India. They have all different kinds of selections you can choose from, I enjoyed my time so much by browsing around their sinks, I just can't get enough of it. You should check it out, too. You just might find something right for your lovely kitchen or bathroom.

6 years!

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY, BABY BOY!

knowing is half the battle

I was soooo happy because we went to see G.I. Joe yesterday at Ward! It was awesome!! you should see it, you won't regret it. I was so sad at the same time because my brother Gully wasn't able to see it - too bad... his 1st year death anniversary will be on August 17th, that's why I'm busy preparing his memorial site... While watching the movie, all I thought about was Gully because as a lil boy he was indeed a fan of the G.I. Joes, we used to play with his G.I. Joe dolls and my dolls to create a neighborhood and stories to come along with it. I miss Gully so much... he would've loved this movie to bits! (sigh)

We all enjoyed it, of course. We'd love to see that Avatar: the last airbender movie, the trailer looks pretty awesome, don't you think? It was a rainy day, but we still went out though. happy, happy day!

we're almost done!

Just a list on some things we've done so far within the past week. It's been very stressful but at the same time I am so happy because hubby just works a few hours everyday and he's home most of the time and we spend a lot more time together as a family. awhile ago we went to Jack in the box around 8:30 pm, while he was driving I can surely sense that he was happy and contented. He told me how happy he is for spending more time with us unlike before, because seriously hubby had overtimes almost everyday, we barely speak to each other because by the time he comes home we switch and I go to work. by the time I get home at 11 pm they're both asleep. so sad, huh... but that's life.

We leave Hawaii by Sept. 30th. We're probably going to check in at the Ohana Hotel by the airport which is $109 a night, we check out the next day to board the plane via Hawaiian Airlines. We're going to break our 12 month rental lease, but thank God the owner was so understanding, bless them... We went to Home depot the other day, bought caulk to patch up the hole in the walls. We got rid of quite a LOT of stuff! we made probably $500 from our bulky stuff while others have been donated and sent to the Philippines. There are quite a lot of things I needed to give up... It's so hard parting ways with stuff that's really close to you, that's why it's so important NOT to get too attached to any object.

right now, we still have the bed, the computer table, entertainment center, the living room bulky flat screen tv and some stuff that's really easy to donate later on. I gave away my blue betta fish to auntie Lita, my co-worker, poor lil fishy... The other betta fish will be given around the 24th when auntie Ana comes home from San Francisco. I donated all my photo albums and picture frames, just took all the photos out and bundled them. There's still a lot of things to do, I can't believe we have so much stuff! A lot of it are from my sister-in-law's, so even if we have a small one bedroom unit - there's PLENTY of stuff in here, ooooh yeah! but I can say that we're halfway there, so there is improvement. We had to update our mailing address for our credit cards and other billings.

We started shredding already, and all I'm gonna do now is sort our clothes out and finalize our personal stuff that we're gonna bring. Will sort out the important documents and we'll be cleaning the house non-stop until a new tenant comes in and looks at the unit since they are going to take over the lease. whew! moving is sooooo stressful! I imagine myself being in the military... I know it's worse because they move around every 3 years or so, I don't think I'll fit in that lifestyle.

I'll keep you guys posted on our status, ok.

Even though I tried every weight loss fad that's out there I'm still so hopeless when it comes to losing weight, It's just driving me insane! a great morning

It's back to school! my son started yesterday, hubby took him to school along with his school supplies and according to the hubs Nate was so quiet and well behaved (cough cough) let's give it some time since he probably has the first day jitters as a first grader. When we picked him up yesterday after school I saw where his class room was, I absolutely adored the location. It was closer to the parking lot, playground, cafeteria, registrar office and the library unlike when he was in kindergarten you had to walk so far! but anyways, I also like his teacher, she's really nice and sweet.

Hubby had to go to work at 3 am today, last night I opted to walk Nate to school so I can have my exercise. Unfortunately, It was already pass seven so I had to call the cab and we arrived just in time before the bell rang. I walked home and It was a great one - not too hot and not too cold although I felt some droplets of rain on my face so I walked as fast as I could, I didn't get to visit the pharmacy too bad I wanted to check out their diet and nutrition aisle for some diet supplements I saw on Dietsupplements.org, I just wanted to see how much it costs before checking out other stores.

yay, we're moving!

Today, My hubby and his sister were talking today on the phone. Like I Said on my previous post, It's official! we're moving to San Diego within this year, like in a few months. I believe we won't be spending our Christmas in dear ol' Honolulu. I can't believe it up to now, you know - that we've finally decided to move for good. Hawaii has been great to us, but like I said, we need to move on and find more opportunities in another place. So all we did today was plan, like how we're gonna get rid of our stuff, mostly the bulk ones are gonna be sold, the mostly used furnitures are either gonna go to the dumpster or maybe passed on to friends who still needs it. I decided my fishes are going to my filipina friend at work, auntie Ana. She asked me one day that If we decided to leave I could pass my lil fishies to her. And some of the canned goods and electronics will be shipped to hubby's home in the Philippines. I need to get rid of a lot of stuff, too - which I'm not too happy about (Icried so much today) . But that's ok, we need to bring as little as possible with us, we need a fresh start, a new beginning. The last one to be shipped is our Van maybe 3 days before our trip. Moving can be so stressful, especially when you live in the Islands. I just wish Hawaii was connected to the mainland, at least we'll just hire the movers like the moving companies New York to help us relocate our stuff, wish it was that easy, huh. anyways, I am off for 4 days so that gives me enough time to go though my stuff and sort it out to lessen the junk we have.
