Ok, so everyday my hubby keeps on telling me that after his contract ends on August he'll be working out with me often. Oh, ok - I'll believe it when that time comes. I did go back to the gym but it's been a few weeks already and I feel soooo bloated, I need something to motivate me losing weight. I want to lose some pounds before we leave Hawaii, but I know hubby is sincere and It can sure motivate me more when he exercises with me, we'll be doing a lot of walking for sure. I'm starting to lose a little bit and I'm pretty sure I sound like a broken record to you by now. Anyways, I need to read some reviews about this appetite suppressant that I'm so interested in, maybe it will work for me, who knows.

Sometimes, I'm just so fed up with everything online... I want to rant but there are no words coming out. I feel like I have nobody at all but my family, you know. Some of you know that feeling, it comes and goes and I am just wishing this crappy feeling would just disappear! hmm, maybe my hormones are going haywire... I blame it on my period for coming and going and IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!
I badly need a check up. There are days I lose my interest on blogging, flickr, facebook, twitter... everything to me is zero and I feel so abandoned. Maybe a few days from now I'll probably get over these feelings... There's just a lot of things going on at this moment and I don't really wanna disclose it yet on my blog. I'm happy and sad at the same time...
So It's official, we're moving to San Diego around October or November. Earlier than I thought. (sniff)
watermelons + other stuff
Sack and Save had a great deal on their watermelons! 19 cents a lb! regular price is 59 cents a lb. see the difference? We don't really buy watermelons here because it's sooo darn expensive. I'm not sure how much a lb is it in the mainland? I bought one seedless and one regular. This was around the 4th of July, we miss eating watermelon!
In other news, I finally got to update my This and that blog and my Shopping blog and I'm not even done yet especially with the links, if you're interested please leave a tag and I will link you as soon as possible when I have the time.
I miss blogging so much, as well as my beloved online sisters... I'm spending a lot of time on flickr, facebook and twitter and I wasn't aware taht I've been neglecting my dear poor blogs! how awful of me... but I promise, I'll stick to it. :)

things to do, things to do
I'm just relaxing right now. It's already the 10th and each day is getting closer until I go back to work. I cherish this 2 week vacation I requested. my boss insisted I take it because I have lots of use or lose leave that's about 140+ hours and she doesn't want that to go to waste. That's true. The last vacation time I had that was about last year around August, when I wanted to spend more time with my brother because I knew if I didn't take it then I might regret it sooner. It wasn't a vacation of luxury, I was stressed and worried of everything. I was sad and emotional, buckets and buckets of tears flowed out of me... weeks of mourning... It wasn't a good vacation for me.
Now, I can say I have a good 2 weeks of spending time with my family. bonding with my family just relaxes me so much, not to mention picking up after my son everytime he makes a mess. hubby requesting for food every now and then (LOL) but all in all... It's peaceful around here! I have a list of things to do while I still have 1 more week to go.
THINGS TO DO:
- clean the house.
- clean the bathroom.
- organize the pantry and refrigerator.
- organize the closets.
- organize Nate's stuff.
- organize my personal stuff.
- back up and organize my computer files. (before something happens!)
- throw away we don't need anymore.
- develop some pictures at Longs.
- finish a scrap page for a friend who's leaving.
- make scrap pages for my supervisor's new wall.
- go to the pool!
- change the beddings.
- do laundry.
- go to the GYM.
I have a lot on my plate right now, but I'll take it one at a time. see ya!

We do have our own Linksys router here at home and I'm telling you ever since hubby bought it I've been browsing smoothly with our wireless connection using my laptop. before, I used to just have my own work desk but usually browsing around hours and hours at a time just gives me a back ache, so hubby ran to the nearest store to buy one. And from then on I am browsing smoothly than ever. under renovation
Well, I decided to go for a new look and make things much much organized and easier... I finally switched to blogger's XML templates (goodbye classic). It's kinda hard tweaking it but I am enjoying my simple blogy blix theme. I still have to add a lot of sidebar contents and just in case you don't see your link there - please understand that I am still currently fixing my links, I am in the process of deleting broken links as well. so yeah...
I'm on 2 weeks leave, yayy! I am so happy coz I get to blog again, of course. finish some lil projects I need to do like the scrap page I am giving away for a co-worker/friend that is leaving for the Philippines around the 27th of July. and I'm currently making scrap pages for my supervisor's new office wall, she told me it was soooo bare! I'm truly honored, I may say. 
The little one's summer school ended today but I didn't make him go to school anymore due to his coughing. he had a fever the other day and yesterday he was fine since he went to school but now he is coughing really bad. All you can smell here in the house is Tylenol grape flavor and Vicks. poor guy... anyway, as I was saying, summer school has ended and now I have plenty of time to do the things I needed to do like organize the closets and the pantry and throw away or donate the things we really don't need around here. general cleaning, of course! and make time for the GYM, I am soooo happy coz after going back to the gym for 2 days I've seen results from my pants, can you believe that? I really need to stick to it, besides I don't have to pay for it like I used to back in 24hr fitness in 2004, It's one of the greatest benefits of working for the federal. I also need to finish my brother Gully's memorial website before Aug. 17, 2009 to mark his 1st death anniversary. I am also planning to revamp (how many times do I have to say this?) my This and that blog, I still wanna keep that and no plans of deleting it. hmmm... what else? I think that's it. I'll keep you guys posted... to my visitors who still come here and visit, I LOVE YOU, GUYS!!! Godspeed.
The world mourns...
Yesterday was a sad one for millions and millions of people worldwide. We had 2 great losses namely Farrah Fawcett who died hours before Michael Jackson. Can you believe it, two icons in one day? The passing of the two just saddens me so much, as well as for the whole world... Farrah died at teh age of 62 from her battle of Cancer, while Michael died from Cardiac arrest.
All we have ever talked about yesterday was about them two. Michael's music just went on and on in all radio stations to pay tribute to the king of pop himself. my sister-in-law texted me 'Michael J is dead. RIP' I was like whoah who? Michael Jordan??? so I went straight to the computer and looked up online 'Michael Jordan is dead' so I was like, how come there's no breaking news or anything? there's gotta be something. This is huge! I logged onto Twitter and sure enough everybody was talking about MICHAEL JACKSON. Michael? as, in Michael Jackson?? It was hard to believe, c'mon - It's Michael Jackson!
I grew up loving his music (we all did), me and my brother loved his Moonwalker movie very much, all that songs that makes you wanna dance all day... I still watch it on Youtube every now and then. hey, Michael was indeed a controversial star but he's an icon we will truly never forget. He started when he was very young with the Jackson 5, and from there just maintaining his iconic status for decades is really something else. he captured the hearts of billions of people through his music. Every time I listen to his songs you get that good feeling vibe all the time.
On my way to work, stations had been talking about him non-stop, playing his music one request at a time from fans who called the radio stations. One caller said she doesn't believe that Michael is dead. The dj asked 'so you still believe in conspiracy?!' then the caller explained that maybe Michael and other icons in history like for example Elvis Presley are all in their private secluded island relaxing and sipping their favorite drinks, who knows They probably paid someone to have their own death certificate so they can go on with a peaceful life. I'm like, are you for real? but seriously, we would like to think of the positive things instead of bad. We don't want our fave stars to go away, so we think of all kinds of conspiracies so those stars remain with us forever. Wherever they are right now, I hope they find the peace and contentment within the arms of our Lord. Let's pray for the children and for the whole Jackson family...
No wonder a few days ago, I read on Yahoo that MJ's children had finally been unmasked, to tell you the truth I only saw what they looked like a few days ago but I saw some of their pics online like early Feb. 2007, according to the article Michael finally unmasked the children because he wanted them to grow a normal life not like he did. Who knew that it was one of his hints that he was about to go? so sad, don't you think?
Up until now, I still can't believe the king of pop had finally said good bye. His name and music will forever be remembered.... prayers go out to Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett and their familes, may they rest in peace...

A few months ago we switched to another car insurance because the previous one wanted us to pay our premium $1,750 for 6 months!! isn't that like, insane? books galore
Can you believe I'm reading about what - 4 books at the moment? hahaa, I know soooo exaggerated! I was almost done with the single white vampire, took a break from that since there was a lot of adult action in it, a bit funny though. next, is the people of sparks, I watched the city of ember last year and I haven't read the books but I truly loved the movie, so I thought maybe I could give it a go, so instead of starting in the first book I went to the second just being eager to find out what happened next. not only that I started reading the 4th book, diamond of darkhold. I'll read the prophet of yonwood last. yep, I'm a sucker for stories like that, so if you know any kind of similar stories like the ember series maybe you can tell me about it :).

I'm currently reading diet pill reviews. I know, I know - don't get me wrong I have tried so many fad diets which didn't work in the past including the pill, but you know I'm still on the look out for the right one, I just have to be extra careful and I need to read a lot especially nowadays there are just a lot of diet pills popping out everywhere but always remember that every pill is unique and It depends on our body types so choose wisely and ask your doctor before taking anything. now let me get back to reading some reviews, hopefully I can see something right for me.
eww, cobwebs!
hehee, not at my home that's for sure. I meant this blog. It's been like, what - 2 weeks? since my last post? goodness. sorry for not keeping in touch. I am soooo busy with my offline life, it's not like before when my son wasn't with us, I can go online 24/7 - no kidding! you know, when you get home from work, you just don't have the knack to open your computer and update some stuff, I do miss my internet on my phone I can just whip it out and start typing, like my own personal mini computer. I had to block the internet from my phone, coz we are cutting back on a lot of stuff If we want to move. so no mobile web for me until we get back on track again. anyways, this blog definitely saddens me, partially my fault because I don't really keep tabs on it anymore, I don't return visits (you guys know why, so sorryyyy) I really want to give up blogging for quite a long time, but I already told myself that won't be happening. I've made some great friends from blogging, we do keep in touch even offline and I'm happy I have met them (thank you, guys!) I'm just keeping a low profile for now, A lot of people get sick all the time, I am so happy we don't really get sick often, when a cold starts we try to prevent it as soon as possible so we don't get sick for a long time. like me for example I do get sick every now and then, but that's my allergies and it only lasts for a day, drink plenty of fluids and a long rest - the next day I'm feeling great again. unlike some people, they don't get sick often but when they do it will be weeks of rest for them. One factor I also avoid is spending a lot of time online, on the computer. a few years back when I was always online I did get sick all the time, and it really took a toll on me. but now spending less time online does justice for me. I don't know, it works for me. that is also a reason I only have 1 blog to maintain, I can't imagine myself handling 5 to 8 blogs! @__@ there is no way I can do that. speaking of blogs, I am going to revamp the this and that online blog, It badly needs a facelift! even this main blog of mine... ok, I gotta go I just wanted to let you all know what is happening to me at the moment I might just enable the mobile blogging from my phone, too so I can still blog while I'm away from my pc.

moving on
Me and my husband had decided to move to San Diego. I actually cried, you know - I had mixed emotions and up to now I'm really sad leaving Hawaii. We're not sure when yet but time goes by so fast the minute you know it it's time to pack up and go. We're planning on getting rid of the bulk items little by little. I'm thinking about our flat screen tv, when we have our own place hopefully we can buy a better tv stand,something that can hold a lot of things and stylish at the same time. Most of our stuff are hand me downs like the entertainment table and the bed, the sofa bed and quite a lot of things. my sister-in-law really took care of us before they moved to Japan. I guess this is the right time to move on another path, don't you think? everybody needs to move on and we can't stay in one place forever. It's a good thing we didn't buy a lot of stuff or else it will be so hard to get rid of.

what a year + our time management
I can't believe how time flies by soooo fast! It's the end of the school year, my lil boy is entering the first grade on July (sigh) I'm having mixed emotions :) I am so proud of my son for doing so good in school in spite of his playfulness. Waking up early in the morning every day is a normal routine for me unlike before where I just sleep on and not worry about a thing. Without a baby sitter we manage to get everything in place, here's how we do it:
when hubby goes to work at 2am, he brings the van to work and sometimes he brings it back at 7am, his boss usually follows him and picks him up and they head back to work. or he just keeps the van and me and my son walk to school, takes about 30 minutes from our home, we wake up at 6am and leave at 7. hubby gets off at 2:30 and when he has the van he just picks up Nathan from school and I get down to the lobby to meet him there so we can switch, I usually work nights it's either 3 or 4 to 10:30 pm, I like to take the van to work and not be dropped off so hubby doesn't have to fetch me from work. We own only one vehicle, and we're not planning on buying another one soon, I think having one car is enough for us, we're blessed to have our work places very near our home, at least 10 to 15 minutes when there's traffic. We don't fight traffic like most of our workmates since they live so far away like Waipahu, Ewa beach, Makakilo... I can't imagine ourselves living way over there, they have pretty homes there but way too pricey for us though :(.
Nathan has Aplus (Kama'aina kids) so when I have mid-shift and hubby has overtime we have until 5:30 to pick Nathan up from school. When hubby works at 6am me and nathan drop him off at work. When it's Nathan's school time we leave at 7:40. In the morning, I finish my tasks like laundry, dishes, etc. and I sleep for 2 hours, I set my alarm and when I get up I prepare lunch for my boys. and in the afternoon I get ready around 1:30, leave the house at 2:15, arrive at hubby's work around 2:35, I drop them off at home and I have extra 15 minutes to get to work. I mostly love my 6 and 7 hour shifts because I have extra time to help out with Nate's homework.
I have indefinite schedules, I'd give an eye teeth if they could just give me permanent night shifts you know. but anyways, when there's school vacation I ask my supervisor if she can give me night shifts so we can work it out, and you know what she always gives it to me... you just gotta be friendly with your boss, but sometimes you still got to have that boundary between employee and boss, it's called respect. When Nate has school I can be mornings and nights, when I do have mornings I usually drop them off and I take my 30 minute lunch break to fetch my hubby at work and he sometimes drop me off at work and he'll pick up our son and they will fetch me when I'm done at work. and usually at that time we get to spend time with each other like go grocery shopping, or just stroll at the mall.
Working parents can be very hard, but I see it as a challenge. I know lots of people experience this, not all moms can stay at home, especially here in Hawaii... both have to work unless you're military or your hubby has a good salary, it's pretty darn expensive here since everything gets shipped to the Islands. ever since my mom left us after my brother passed away, we learned how to do things ourselves, we were always dependent on her since she watches Nate when we go to work, we had a feeling of contentment because she was there... but we made it work, thank God. the next challenge for us is when baby #2 arrives. I bombarded my hubby with lots of "what if's" and he would always have an answer for me, but being the person that I am, I like thinking negative thoughts which isn't a good thing like...
1. would we be able to handle this all on our own even when we're working?
2. what if I can't have night shifts anymore? We can't be night shifts forever at work because we need to be flexible.
3. would I be able to quit my job?
These are just the few questions that comes to mind. I think about this every single day... I just hope that my mom would come and help me even for just a few years until baby #2 will be able to go to school, and then she can do whatever she wants after then. but then my husband would always tell me:
"We'll cross the bridge when we get there."
I guess maybe he's right? Why on earth am I stressing out too much? We know God is good and he will provide us the guidance and comfort we need, we just need to trust him. and I'm pretty sure God will never ever give us problems in life if he knows we can't do it, right? trials is a blessing. It just keeps you motivated and much more stronger in life.

Life in the islands
It's such a nice morning, I'm currently here at mcdonalds at wal-mart eating my local deluxe platter. Killing time by canvassing for the aquarium accessories that we need, I want to know how much it is here and at coral fish. They open at 11am, I arrived there around 8:30 this morning, too early.
It's such a nice feeling living in Hawaii, you know. Like mornings like today, all people are at Mcdonalds just drinking coffee in a cold morning, one old man playing his ukulele while chit chatting with friends. It gives you that great feeling how nice life is no matter how hard it is. I'm just enjoying my breakfast right now, too bad lil boy and hubby are not with me, just wish they could be here right now...

Hmmmmm... Yummy
But spicyyy!! I ate this yesterday, I just forgot to post it. Hubby came home with. About 2 cases (24 pk) and dropped it off, he had to go to kaiser to take Nate's check up with dr. Johnson.
He's doing pretty well. Anyhoo, it's been a long time since I ate spicy kimchee but goodness ----- it was too darn hot! My mouth was on fire. I drank milk after, because someone said milk would relieve your mouth from anything spicy. My motuh was so numb I just felt like I had collagen injected within my lips that made it swollen. :-/ in the evening I told hubby about it and he was like 'you're supposed to use half of the seasoning package!' Oh, golly!

I so remember these interviews back then of Jackson Rathbone, well I only knew him as Jackson of course, and I never knew it was him! he looks way mature now, that's the reason we all didn't notice that he started out as a reporter for Disney 411.

Walk, baby walk
Today I was very proud of myself, I walked my son to school. I was suppose to put him in a stroller, but a few days ago my lil man was kinda hesitant to use the stroller. He was really shy and kept on looking at all the other kids who were about to go to school that morning. I ended up carrying the stroller in my arm. It's always windy in the morning, you can't get tired from a mile walk. but when I head back around 8 am when the final bell rings and the kids get in their classes, that's when the sun really hits. hubby goes to work at 2 am so from now on I've decided to walk Nate to school in the morning and Jon can fetch him in the afternoon from A+.
today after walking 2 miles, when I got home I slipped in the hip hop abs dvd total body workout, my thighs are sooooo aching right now. but anyways, it's all good - I'm determined to do so. After seeing everyone's baby pictures, I am so ready for baby # 2! I am thinking of reading some reviews of diet pills at Pricesexposed.net, maybe I'll have an idea of what to buy next to help my diet plan.
Outer banks
The Ocean is my bestfriend. back in high school, after classes me and my friends would run off to the former military base back in our hometown and we would walk about a few miles just to get to the beachside where we sit down and relax and just stare at the beautiful sunset, The beach releases our stress from school. I do miss those days, I live in Hawaii and we're very close to the ocean, just minutes away but since we're always at work I don't get to do what I always loved. dreams are weird
I'm pretty sure you're thinking the same way about it. When I wake up after a dream, I try to jot everything down as soon as possible while it's still fresh, I usually have a pen and paper handy close to my bed. most dreams are really something else. sometimes it tells you the future, hints on what is expected the next few days or so.
like a few months ago I had a dream that my van broke down so I had to walk to get to work, but there was a few obstacles in the way like a lot of these construction workers were digging up lots of holes and a lot of dirt occupied the road so it was harder for me to walk. I kept on looking at my time, I was almost late but got to work just in the nick of time. My supervisor was there and she was pretty upset with me and told me "KIT, YOU'RE LATE!" and I couldn't remember anything after that.
When I went to work that very day I just found out some bad news... We counted the safe wrong that other night! so anyways, I told my friend about my dream and her eyes grew wider, she too HAD a dream (wow) and it went like this:
She came to work but there wasn't any lights on and nobody was there. It was pretty dark, she came in the counting room, to her surprise - there were lots of water inside the room. not only that, there were lots of bundles of bills scattered everywhere in the room, she tried to carry everything but she couldn't handle all of it, so what she did was she had put some bundles under her underwear (we cracked up from hearing this). And after telling each other's dreams and concluding how our dreams gave us a hint our other officemate was amazed with us, she commented on how both of us seems to have a strong ESP (extrasensory perception).
There were lots of other dreams that I have that was work related, most are based on our emotions. I love checking out dream dictionaries, I think I got this from my parents since they used to have a book and they would always talk about their dreams every morning. I just go to the internet :).
Now, around the evening of March 16, 2009 I had this really weird dream. Having this dream reminded me of my own version of an armageddon movie. I was somewhere downtown, I wasn't sure what I was doing at that time. Then I heard some news that there will be a meteor attack on earth. everybody panicked including me. I wanted to get my son from school and I also want to be with my husband. My car wouldn't start so I had to wait in line for a jeepney (jeepneys in hawaii? LOL) so anyways, the line was snake like so I had to think of some way to get to my family, the line was pretty long and I refused to stay in line. I tried my cellphone and I managed to talk to my husband but I got disconnected. from a distance, a first blast of fire went to the ground. then another. and another. I was so scared. I didn't know what to do. I knew I was about to die any minute, experiencing the end of day was pretty scary. Seeing the balls of fire falling down from the sky was really something else. I prayed for all of my loved ones, hoping they would all survive. after that I faced the sky, I could just feel the heat coming inside my skin. very painful, I could feel the skin from my neck moving, thinking I might just explode anytime. I closed my eyes. This is it, I thought. but as soon as I opened my eyes, The balls of fire falling down to earth was done. But the sky showed the outer space and I could see the moon now. the stars and all the planets were so near to each other and to earth as well, it was an amazing sight. but then earth started to move around so fast, and we could all feel that we were moving! staring up the sky with all the stars and planets earth was out of control and later it would stop. then it would go in circular motion once again, then it would stop. Then I heard the alarm clock, I was so thankful to be awake and ALIVE. then I prayed to God, and said thank you to him and it was just all a dream.
The next day, I think it was giving me a hint that I will be having an argument with a filipina at work who works in the admin. I don't know what hit her button that she was so mad at me. I won't elaborate on the details anymore since it's very personal. I was so angry at her but my co-worker told me to just pray for people like that, so I calmed down and cried a bit. I was so emotional, I had to get it out. the next day, my period came (oh goodness).
Sometimes I get the same dream all over again. do you guys have that, too? :)

Ohhh-kay! I did it again! and when I said "again", that means I went shopping for Scrapbooking goodies at Ben Franklin's. I don't know, all of a sudden my scrap mojo just came back, It's amazing. I am concentrating on making some more scrap projects for the home of course as well as buying fabric to make pillow cases for the throw pillows in the living room to beautify the sofa bed. So far this one is the first one I did in a long time.
I've always loved Scrapbooking eversince I was a young kid. I grew even fonder of scrapbooking when I had my first child. When I was pregnant back in 2002 I was always inspired to do stuff that involves crafty stuff from sewing, to cross stitching and putting together artsy stuff. :) right now, I'm still into scrapbooking, mainly digital since it's so easy to make. but in order to make one, you need to be inspired - because if you're not in the mood, most likely your layout will end up looking like crap. Everyday from doing housework to going to work, every moment is an inspiration. I scout for colorful and creative designs from just about anything, from fabrics and magazines to t shirts and shoes, just about anything. My family is the number one motivator to get the scrap mojo going. I'm planning on making a photobook of all the digital scraps that I've made (crosses fingers), so hoping that will pull through.
And last, but not the least...
It is a bit too short, but hey- I get haircuts once a year, so that's not a problem for me. besides, It feels great! It's so light I've managed to cut my time and get to work earlier than when I had long hair.

I'm a shoe buff, for real. but I'm not really a fan of clogs, well - actually it depends on the clogs, right. Like what you see at Footwearetc.com Some of the Clogs you see like the Dansko professional clog in black oiled leather, I think it's kind of similar with the shoes that I wore back in high school, I don't really wear these kind anymore, I'm more of a rubbershoes and strappy flat sandal kind of girl. I went to a friend's house a few weeks ago and I just adore her home, seriously It was just way too organized! Everytime I get a chance to visit a friend or a relative's home I just idolize their homes especially the fixtures around the house like for example the ceiling fans in one's home just create a great design and adds interest and elegance in a home. I was browsing this store called Lightingshowplace.com which was so wonderful because they have a lot of ceiling fans in variety of colors and styles where you can choose from. A few days ago Nate's school had a fun run at their school field, so while waiting the teacher kindly asked me to volunteer to pull out the finished homeworks and put in the homeworks that are going home that day. I absolutely loved it! being in their class volunteering for a few hours really makes a difference. I can tell the teacher appreciated the little volunteer work we gave. The other mom, who was also a filipina, was there. we were the only moms in our son's class to volunteer (how sad). I distributed their notebooks and folders plus goodie bags, I love how they call me "Nathan's mom" since they hesitate to call me mrs. Cruz hehee. :) anyhoo, the fun run was great the kids ran how may lapses, impressive. me and the other mom just went on one lapse... too tired, so out of shape hehee..
I didn't mean to be nosy with the other kid's communication notebooks and homework folders but It's very sad to learn that a lot of these children's parents don't really participate well in their child's education. A lot of kids don't do their homeworks or their communication notebooks which parents needs to read aren't signed plenty of times... I feel bad for the kids. I informed my husband about this one day while we were driving home and he smiled at me, he told me that eventhough we're both busy working parents we still strive hard for our son to learn good and participate as much as we can in their education. That is indeed one of the factors to have a successful child in school. I am so proud of our son, eventhough at some times he can be a pain in a butt but he shows us that he can do good eventhough he didn't go to preschool. We proved some people wrong about our son not going to preschool, well guess what? He's not behind at all and the teacher kept telling us that inspite of his playful behavior he's doing some great progress! that's music to our ears. and we get to see the evidence binder every quarter along with his report card. :) I love how the teacher also tells us that Nate has great handwriting except for the a's and o's and d's he starts writing from the bottom, a small concern that needs work.
I hope he continues on doing good in school, I'm not expecting much from him but hope he'll be like his cousins who are straight A students. :)

I've always wanted to run my own store someday, but at this time I don't think I can, not without money. As soon as I was in front of her home I saw she had a flower wreath in front of the screen door. Now, when she invited me in... GOLLY! her house was gorgeous! it left me drooling and filled with awe. It was so breathtaking, it was a typical filipino home filled with expensive furniture like rosewood and displays (majority are flowers everywhere) like collections from Lladro, Capodimonte, and large porcelain vases and dining set from Imari. Since they lived in Japan for 9 years she also had lots of those japanese collectible dolls in her kitchen. It's just everywhere you go, every part of the house had flowers and plants, it kinda reminded me of our home before where it was filled with flowers and ceramic figurines. What I admired, too was the Washi eggs. I thought at first that the eggs were made of porcelain, as soon as I picked it up it was lightweight. she taught me how to do it and when I asked her how many eggs where in the glass bowl she said it was around 3 dozen eggs. I think I will be doing that next on my craft list, buy lots of Japanese washi paper, eggs and a glass bowl. It's a perfect elegant decor for your home. but that will come later, I don't have the time to do that yet, hahahaa!
Anyway, she told me they also started out with nothing and little by little she pucrchased her stuff so when they bought a house she finally decoarted it with the stuff she collected. her bathrooms are also filled with flowers, they are soooo lovely. to sum it all up, her home was cozy. I don't think I can have a home like that. I can make my home simple with a touch of elegance, I have a passion for flowers fake or not. I adore her home and someday I may collect Lladro and Capodimonte decorations. I just looooove the flowers. (sigh)
I'm inspired to fix our home, make it a lil cozy. I am thinking of buying some clay so I can make some flowers to decorate our bathroom wall. :)

poor Nathan
Nate was scheduled for an appointment to see his doctor yesterday. His left scrotum was larger than the right, the right was too small and the left was too swollen. A lot of people said it is normal, but to us we had a hunch it wasn't normal at all. We asked Nate if it was painful when he pees, but he always said No. We're so glad we took him to the doctor right away, The doctor informed us that Nathan has Hernia, all they would have to do is schedule a surgery, but that would be within 2 weeks time. Our hearts dropped when the doctor said something about when a vein twists and it will be very red and painful, and when that happens his testicles will be damaged and he won't be able to have children :(. but he always said that it is very unlikely though.
But a lot of friends and relatives assured us it won't be any problem, it happened to our nephew and his father. the surgery will be about 30 minutes, we will be at the hospital half the day. (sigh) poor Nathan... Anyhoo, finally got our taxes done this morning. I say, we're happy on the outcome, at least we're still in that bracket. but every year our refund just gets smaller and smaller. Well, I guess that's how it is. At least we get something not like in the Philippines (according to a lot of people) who do not get nothing at all.

When my MIL leaves on the 15th, I have to do a lot of cleaning around the house, I want to give my site a facelift, probably make a new layout and fix some things here and there. anyways, I'm off now. A little later we will be off to take Nate to his dental appointment and we will be attending a dinner and their curriculum showcase at their school.

house hunting
What a title, huh? Well, let's start with waking up early in the morning to drop off hubby at work. Came back home and fed Nate some breakfast, took him to school and just before I got home the hubbykins called and asked me to fetch him, he was still sick (almost a week now). my husband works so hard from 2am to 2:30 pm almost every single day. We do break down once in awhile. hubby was a tad bit irritable, I may say. I just tried my best to comfort and understand him, patience is a virture like they always say.
My mother-in-law was busy on the internet searching for foreclosure homes in our area this morning. We got so excited because she found a 2 bedroom, 2 bath that was around $200 something thousand and it was a good price, condo's 2 bedroom 2 baths here in Hawaii price ranges from 300,000 up. a one bedroom costs 200,000. When my MIL calculated how much the down payment would be we would end up paying $1,247 for mortgage. right now, we're paying $1,250 for a 1 bedroom 1 bath condo unit with one parking space. it includes all utilities like water and electricity, a/c, washer and dryer, basic cable, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven range, 3 pools, recreation area, and a trash chute. unfortunately, when she was talking to the realtor, they had informed her that there was already an offer. crap. :(
We love it here so much because it's so convenient, it's close to everything like the airport (where hubby works) which is just a 10 minute drive and my work - also a 10 minute drive... very convenient. We've lived here since 2004, we started out in a studio where we paid $750 a month. I am just praying so hard right now that hopefully we can find a 2 bedroom right here in our building. It's a secured place. We saw a few units before and it was pretty good. but back then the prices were pretty high. my MIL is just concerned with us because she's worried that rental prices might skyrocket and we'll have to deal with it. hubby's not ready to buy a house just yet. We'll keep on looking hoping we could score a jackpot someday while the prices are still low.
We went to see a condo unit just a mile from our home. me and my MIL left the car and walked instead so we can burn out the fried pork and tofu we had ate that afternoon. We met up with the realtor, she was filipina. she had a pleasant personality and she was very nice, too. She showed us the unit. the rooms are pretty small, the living room was also small, there was a lanai, a pool outside, too. The only thing I like about it is it's only on the 2nd floor, and plus I loved the granite kitchen countertop. the lowdown is... it doesn't have any washer or dryer! so, the realtor promises us she will give us listings based on our criteria. house hunting can be so tiring. :( we're hoping we could buy a starter home soon. I think it's way better than paying rent, at least the unit is yours, right? (sigh)

Hello! I am still alive, people! I am blogging thru my phone at the moment. I just wanted to let you all know that I am still here. I felt guilty for neglecting my blog. For 3 whole weeks, yikes. My apologies. This blog does not have a life anymore! I am soooo drained from the online life. I needed to get away from it once in awhile. I twit sometimes, too but sometimes it can also be tiring updating all the time. I miss the days when I can just do my thing in one corner and be happy. Well, I blame my work for this. Everytime I come to work, I feel so crabby and exhausted. I am asleep most of the time. Luckily my MIL is always there to give a helping hand. She leaves on the 15th of feb. Our uncle isn't back yet from the mainland. Not sure if he'll ever come back though. Well, hope you guys have a great week ahead! Mahalo nui loa for all the visits you all know who you are. Okay, it's been a month or so after I've read the whole Twilight saga and I am proud to say that my obsessiveness towards it had gone down (thank God), it's really funny how you can call it the twilight fever :P so anyways, I came across a twilight inspired perfume at ET online. It looks lovely :) but I wonder if it smells nice though?
anyhoo, back to the movie and the book. I was searching for blogs who hated Twilight and I came across a lot, of course. They listed a lot of flaws that was in the movie and in the book (not surprised) there will always be flaws no matter what. and there will always be haters no matter what. I wanted to get rid of my obsessiveness to the book as well as the movie (I'll still buy the dvd though) I tried finding negative comments about it and it actually worked a lil bit, When I bought the DVD of Shia Labeouf's Eagle Eye my mind completely forgot Twilight for a few days. I'm proud to say I'm done with it. although I know when the next movie comes out I'll be sure as heck to be over ga-ga with it. depends though on how they make it. I'm a kid at heart and I love cheesy romantic movies, so sue me! I just like the feeling of falling in love, you know...
before I hit the sack I'd like to extend my greetings and my heartwarming thank you's to all the friends who never gets tired of reading my posts, you may not leave a tag or comment but base on mybloglog, I will know the people who dropped by for sure. I know inspite of my lack of presence in this blog world, I know my friends are still there. I'm kinda getting tired of blogging, too. sad, I know. I am thinking of quitting... but with the little extra bread coming in, I can't really give up now.
I guess I'm just tired. exhausted. burned. I am soooo out of shape, I need exercise. I need to get away from the net as much as possible, focus on myself for once. but before I do that - I need to revamp the site first, so I promise myself on my days off I need to focus on fixing some things around the site like delete broken links, give it a facial lift, the list goes on. organize my scrap gallery as well, I want to make a photobook that contains all my scrap LO's. It's now 1:12 am here and I need to get some sleep coz I have to get up at 7:30 am for work. goodnight to all!

being lost, not anymore
For your information, we don't have GPS in our van, I am hoping maybe someday we should I just don't think it's necessary for us to have one since Hawaii is not that big. We only rely on my phone's GPS, that's about it. here's to the new year
Last post for the year 2008. I am really thankful for a lot of things, although my brother is not with us anymore somehow he managed to make everything fall into place. I wouldn't really elaborate on the details, I would just keep it to myself. Nothing is impossible with our dear father up above, without his trials we wouldn't be as stronger as we are right now. I am thankful for my husband who has been patient with me as long as I can remember. he loved me for who I am as well as my whole family. my son who has been a great learner these past months, what an awesome lil fella! we're such proud parents for all the achievements he had made, hope he could continue that attitude. my in-laws for being supportive as ever even when my brother died. I thank my offline and online friends, who had been there for me cheering me up and making me happy when I was down, thank you all! as well as our buddies at work and for our jobs as well. it brings us food to the table, thank you God!
well... farewell 2008, it has been a great new year full of ups and downs, now we are ready to face 2009. Hope you guys have a safe new year wherever you are!

a belated merry christmas
How was everyone's christmas? I hope you guys had a good one. as for us, well you can say we had a lonely one since the little one isn't here as well as the in-laws. Can you believe I didn't cook anything for our Noche buena? I didn't even get to open my presents, I only opened it this afternoon when hubby came home from work. It was mostly food and kitchen utensils (lol) It was all good. hubby bought me a 10 MP fujifilm finepix z20.
I was supposed to get another sony cybershot since we gave my 6MP one to my MIL. but I am so lovin' this camera right here. it isn't bad at all, I tell ya! What I love most about it is it's mpeg video, It's amazingly clear! compared to my cybershot this one take's the cake. I can't really share the video that I took on christmas eve at work. since my card reader isn't working, I'll probably share it some other time. anyhoo, hubby was also supposed to buy me DSLR! but he told me I can only choose one, soooo I chose the compact point and shoot since it's very important to me. The DSLR can always come later, besides it's not practical to buy that yet. I'd rather spend it with other things, I had to weigh in my options to see if I really needed it or not =/.

In other news, last night around 7pm, the whole Oahu island had a power outage, due to lightning and rain I wasn't sure. I was currently shopping at Ross at the time. I was in the fitting room when I noticed the lights kept on flickering. As soon as I got to the checkout line the registers went down and I was so glad to get in line before the line became long. As I headed to Pearlridge mall (the building was just behind Ross) The whole mall just blacked out! of course a lot of screaming and yelling here and there mainly caused by silly teenagers! I quickly walked my way up to Sears since I had to take one floor down coz I parked in front of Sears, the place was just pure darkness, it was sooooo spooky! it also rained hard, I was shopping by myself since hubby was all alone sleeping at home. there was heavy traffic due to people getting out of the malls and heading back home. You can only see car lights, there was no power everywhere --- not even traffic lights! I spent my time using up the power of my laptop and just twittering on my phone. I slept around 1am and can you believe the power came on around 9:45 in the morning? this was way worse than the last time, The last power outage was around 2006 when an earthquake shook the whole hawaiian islands! ok, I'll be blogging again sometime soon, I need to finish my online tasks. It's about 1am here Hawaii time, I need to get some sleep now. have a blessed holidays to all! oh before I forget, I've sent the christmas cards FINALLY! for those who haven't received anything, you'll be getting something from me in the mail... wait lang kayo! iisa isahin ko kayo eh hehehee...

I was supposed to fly to San Diego along with hubby after my in laws and my son had went around the 17th. It was just too bad I couldn't be there, bummer.
