this and that, what?

I've just noticed I haven't been writing at my this and that blog for quite sometime now, so last night I got a chance to revive it, so wish me luck on keeping it updated since I'm not really a blog buff who owns at least 5 blogs or more, now that is so hard to keep up. 2 blogs is enough, thank you. I'm fixing it at the moment and when it's done maybe we can exchange links there, too. let me know if you want to be linked. that blog would be tackling about almost anything that comes to mind. I'm off to finish some updates now. ta-ta!

The Phoebe Dance

I'm ba-ack!

hello, friends! It's been a long time since I've had my last post. I missed blogging very much. Well, my SIL and the kids just left yesterday morning and we couldn't really get over it that they're back in Korea now. They'll be leaving Seoul I think around June or July to move to San Diego. We really miss them so much. They arrived around April 3rd, and I'm telling you it was shopping galore for them. We had such a great time wishing they would just stay with us.

I felt really bad for my son coz when they left I could really see the sadness in his eyes, I had to drop them off at the airport, I myself felt so emotional when I hugged the kids and my SIL. I treat my SIl like my very own sister, I never had an elder sister before so everytime they left we would be very sad. my son had a great time playing with his cousins, they would joke around with a lot of stuff, play games, go on the computer, they would fight a lil bit but then would play again later. my mom and my brother are very fond of the kids coz they love games very much and they are great comedians, too. Minute after minute is like happy time, you know, they often joke around, that's why I love them very much, so is my SIL, when you get together she will seriously kill you with her jokes. speaking of my SIL she's finally hooked into blogging, pls visit her @ http://readmyblog-2good2btrue.blogspot.com
she's still new at it but will be a pro sooner or later.

just a quickie

Work was great today. not a lot of crazy customers, the cashiers were as funny as usual. It also rained today. I love rain... I don't like it raining when I'm outside spending a great day with my family somewhere. especially when I'm jogging, speaking of jogging BOOO.. I need to jog tomorrow and the next day, hopefully it doesn't rain though, darn it! this is just a quick update for today, I might be blogging again everyday, or maybe every other day. It's not a promise, but I'll be here and there....lurking.

been a long time

... Since I made a post! how sad is that? I can't believe I was away from blogging for almost a week? blehhh... sorry, people.. I just had a lot of things to do, plus work was hectic, you can't even imagine. first of, a few days ago hubby told me to take a cab since he cannot leave his shift due to his heavy work load, so I did. I didn't have cash in hand so I went to the ATM and lo and behold... what do you know? my card was retained! I was soooo pissed, pushed clear and cancel a few times, didn't come out. I forgot my cellphone at home and I was so glad I had some coins in my make up pouch I called Navy federal about my card, they asked me if I had received my new debit card which was sent out around November, which I never received. I told her about an experience from one of our customers who's card got retained in the machine and as when he was about to call for help, his card was long gone, tried to cancel his card but someone had already used it to shop at the commissary! for the cash amount of 50 bucks. imagine that, you found someone's card, what do you do? instead of turning it in you use it for your benefit, some people I'm telling you are just a bunch of *****. but gladly, the rep told me my card was already expired so the new one it's on the way now. =/ anyways, I forgot to tell you about the cab driver, he was really nice about it, he never let me pay anymore coz I told him my card got stuck in the machine and I wanted to borrow some cash from my friends at work, but he said no, I asked for his number though I'll pay him next time. what a good samaritan =D.

So, we're a lil shorthanded at work, 3 people are on leave so that means 2 people per shift of course. and I can't believe my other co-worker had resigned, too... but that's another story. will tell you about that later.

I made my last dessert, too.. I don't really know what it's called, so I just called it haupia Okinawa potato graham pie. anybody know what dessert this is? I forgot to ask my friend at work, she brought it around New years eve. I sacrificed my son's box of teddy grahams since I didn't have any regular graham crackers in hand. I think I had put a lot of butter into the grahams, and too much milk into the potato... less haupia topping, too. but it turned out great for the tastebuds. that's the last for me.



and Guess what? I think I am really sticking to my new years resolution. and I am very happy about it. I started to do tae bo again, every day, less rice, more fruits and veggies as well as water and fish. and the first few days (ouchies) my body was crying for help. but as days go by I feel as if I've lost a lot (dream on) but yeah, I have to coz my days are almost up, you guys know when Nathan hits 5 we're soon planning to have an addition to the family, I'm so excited. thinking about it just motivates me to lose more. wish me luck, guys! so, I'll end this post here will chat again tomorrow... I was about to go to work when I decided to drop by our mailbox, I saw a key and I just knew something spectacular is waiting for me in the other mailbox. It's so exciting receiving something from friends.. and yep, just as I anticipated.. A BOX! when I opened it.. it was just too cute! thank you Lhyz so much for the wonderful engraved jewelry box, you didn't have to, my friend... mwahh






I'm off today but I still need to do a lot of things on my list. We had a great simple new year. Hubby shopped and filled our pantry and fridge with lots of food, he told me eventhough we're not rich we'll never go hungry and as long as our family is complete we'll remain happy and blessed forever. he's such a great man, I tell ya. The 30th hubby woke us up and we ate at Denny's for breakfast around 7:00 am, it was still way too dark at that time, I felt like it was 5:30 in the morning. after that we went to Don Quijote to shop for fruits and other stuff.

around the afternoon hubby wanted to drive around the Island, because he wanted to eat some freshly harvested shrimps at kahuku, the last time we went there was around 2003. So We did, It was very nice driving around the island, It was terrific. We had the longest drive, we drove the whole kamehameha highway just to reach Kahuku. We were trying to find Romys shrimp shack, that's where we ate the last time we were there. It's been a long time since we last saw the place so my hubby was about to give up and turn around and go back to Honolulu, When we went through the Tetsuo harano tunnel (that's not our video, by the way) the scenic point was just awesome! I'll post pictures later... good thing we stopped by this Shrimp truck when we arrived at kahuku, boy we were hungry from that long drive!



It was a graffiti type of truck, where everyone who eats there gets to have their John Hancock on it. as well the tables, too... here's a funny one.





At long last, our lunch has arrived. dig in! yummmmm....

Ok, enough for this long post, I hope I didn't bore ya. I made a new theme, I missed Charmmy kitty, I love her so much, so I decided to make a change! pink, blue green... ahhh...

It’s just those rainy days...

Blige.. yep, it's raining for about a week now. it's sunny, then it's rainy, we had some heavy winds the other day power lines and trees broke and fell into the road, we lost our cable and internet connection yesterday, that's why I didn't get to blog. The other night after work at 10:30 while me and my work buddy Leona were walking to the car heavy winds was really making a lot of trees make those creeky sounds, and even our vehicles were starting to move, that was really scary! Even on top of our condo we had a hard time opening the doors coz of the pressure from the wind that was coming from the exit door that kept on opening.



We went to Bestbuy yesterday, looked for ps2 games that were on sale... then we went to the mp3 section, hubby kept on hinting how he would like to buy me the ipod touch instead of the ipod nano. then later on he changes his mind and says he might not get it for me for christmas. I felt sad, but I know my hubbykins, he plays with my mind =D like what he did with when he got me my sony vaio laptop, and I know for sure I'll get that. but seriously, It's really not important. I'm not expecting anything, I'd rather buy something for them, Like I always say, there are more important things in life than just splurging your money on material things. I might just buy clothes instead.. but who knows.. we'll see.

yay for December!

It's christmas in the Cruz household! I always love this cheerful month. everyone is so nice to each other, christmas trees, fresh pine trees, the cold weather, the smell of hot cocoa in the air, bells, ribbons, wreaths... It's just wonderful. I didn't do my christmas shopping yet, maybe in a week or two I don't know yet. The day after thanksgiving, as it is a traditional part of our family to put up the christmas decorations, hang the small stockings, the green ribbon with bells on our door and setting up the tree, my son helped me put the ornaments on since our tree is very small as you can see, I'm not ready to have a fresh tree just yet, maybe when we own a home I can settle for a fresh tree every year. my son enjoyed decorating the tree very much, here's my lil boy...







not much a fan of eggnog, but christmas only comes once a year so I usually buy some and drink at least once a day. just sprinkle some nutmeg and you're good to go. It usually helps me revive the memories of what our dad used to make on christmas days back then when we were little.

Christmas is just around the corner, let's spread some cheer and happiness around the world. I'll be making a post at least once a day until the great day comes, so don't miss out, I promise.

I have 4 days off woohooo! fri, sat, sun and mon. my manager had put the first and second week days off all together that's why it seems a lot, but it's great I don't mind. We still need to do a lot of stuff though. we're going to take flat Stanley around the island tomorrow, so we can send it back to Korea. have a wonderful blessed day to all!

I have to get some shut eye, hubby is waiting for me in bed, he wants me to shut down the laptop... now. anyways, Our friend flat stanley, who came all the way from Seoul, Korea is having his own lil vacation in Honolulu, Hawaii! our nephew Thomas had to send him to us for a lil project of his and I think it's so cute, I had to take his first picture in front of our condo today. It rained so bad this morning, thunder and lightning, eeek! anyways here he is...

Thanksgiving went out fine hope everyone did have a great turkey day as well. I didn't cook turkey we only had chicken, but someday maybe next year I want to try my hand on cooking even a small turkey filled with stuffing and all. my family's not really big on turkey that's why. I'll be back later coz I'm busy decorating my lil humble abode. and I'll be giving away plenty of awards later on, too... pictures and videos awaits. so stay tuned, people, stay tuned! for now I need to jog over at Safeway buy some milk and eggs because I have to prepare hubby's fave, fried rice. and mom cooked delicious sauteed shrimp in garlic this afternoon for lunch, yum. have a wonderful blessed day, friends! thanks for all the wonderful turkey day greetings. mwahh

We woke up around 7 and went to eat at Koa Pancake house, I simply ordered a Denver Omelette (yum) with baked potatoes on the side while hubby and Nathan settled with pancakes. We went around the Island toay, and I say it was a terrific wonderful day (a scorching hot day!), The beaches was just crowded with people, It was so much fun. We had a great time, stopped by each of the breath taking scenic points. the ocean was superb, It was color green, you can really see the fishes swimming because of the crystal clear water.

I'm completely exhausted! but Nate's birthday was absolutely superb! be back tomorrow for pics and video-sharing. actually we were all tired, complete story will follow tomorrow night, and I have to say my week will be busy as heck!
