yummy grilled pork chops

While I'm typing this, I am so craving hubby's grilled pork chops. He made some BBQ pork chops last night, we went grocery shopping over at Sea food city by National City. It was just Delish. Yummy! My gosh, my stomach is just growling non-stop just thinking about it. Sue me for not eating when we went to Taco Bell today, I was full at the time and I only ordered a sparkling Limeade. I just want to go downstairs right now and heat up a piece of pork chop. But it's just totally wrong! The time is now 10:43 in the evening and eating at this late hour is a total NO-NO.
I received The biggest loser DVD from the mail a few days ago, I got it as a reward from my GYM points. You see, I wasn't expecting this at all - we thought we'll be having a bodybugg when we reach 24 medals. We were so upset, it was only 6 months! I had a notice from my email that we needed to choose a reward before it gets forfeited. Boo!
But anyways, I'm on round 2 so I'll try my best to answer more surveys and earn more points so when I reach the 6 month I'll have enough points for a bodybugg. YAY! Anyhoo, back to those lip smacking chops - I'll keep myself busy so I can totally forget about my hunger right now. The wolf in my stomach is hungry and needs to be stopped! (LOL)

H-O-T in San Diego

Yes, It's Hot over here! It started to heat up a few days ago, Those sweaty sleepless nights are just plain ridiculous! It's like being back in Hawaii, goodness... We take 2 to 3 baths just to feel cool and comfortable.(sigh) I can't wait for Winter, I really don't mind being in 3 layers at all. Anyways, The little boy celebrated his 7th birthday today. We ordered a small spongebob cake for him from Goldilocks. He loves his cake very much, although Spongebob's friend Patrick wasn't on the cake, he was a bit disappointed with that, He asked us the night before if we bought the cake from Walmart, and when he found out that we got it from a different place he was kinda sad. But we reminded him that he was supposed to be thankful because at least he got a cake! Compared to majority of unfortunate kids around the world who can't even afford to have cakes on their birthdays. He finally realized it and was happy again. Kids, I tell ya.

been a long time

... Since I made a post! how sad is that? I can't believe I was away from blogging for almost a week? blehhh... sorry, people.. I just had a lot of things to do, plus work was hectic, you can't even imagine. first of, a few days ago hubby told me to take a cab since he cannot leave his shift due to his heavy work load, so I did. I didn't have cash in hand so I went to the ATM and lo and behold... what do you know? my card was retained! I was soooo pissed, pushed clear and cancel a few times, didn't come out. I forgot my cellphone at home and I was so glad I had some coins in my make up pouch I called Navy federal about my card, they asked me if I had received my new debit card which was sent out around November, which I never received. I told her about an experience from one of our customers who's card got retained in the machine and as when he was about to call for help, his card was long gone, tried to cancel his card but someone had already used it to shop at the commissary! for the cash amount of 50 bucks. imagine that, you found someone's card, what do you do? instead of turning it in you use it for your benefit, some people I'm telling you are just a bunch of *****. but gladly, the rep told me my card was already expired so the new one it's on the way now. =/ anyways, I forgot to tell you about the cab driver, he was really nice about it, he never let me pay anymore coz I told him my card got stuck in the machine and I wanted to borrow some cash from my friends at work, but he said no, I asked for his number though I'll pay him next time. what a good samaritan =D.

So, we're a lil shorthanded at work, 3 people are on leave so that means 2 people per shift of course. and I can't believe my other co-worker had resigned, too... but that's another story. will tell you about that later.

I made my last dessert, too.. I don't really know what it's called, so I just called it haupia Okinawa potato graham pie. anybody know what dessert this is? I forgot to ask my friend at work, she brought it around New years eve. I sacrificed my son's box of teddy grahams since I didn't have any regular graham crackers in hand. I think I had put a lot of butter into the grahams, and too much milk into the potato... less haupia topping, too. but it turned out great for the tastebuds. that's the last for me.

and Guess what? I think I am really sticking to my new years resolution. and I am very happy about it. I started to do tae bo again, every day, less rice, more fruits and veggies as well as water and fish. and the first few days (ouchies) my body was crying for help. but as days go by I feel as if I've lost a lot (dream on) but yeah, I have to coz my days are almost up, you guys know when Nathan hits 5 we're soon planning to have an addition to the family, I'm so excited. thinking about it just motivates me to lose more. wish me luck, guys! so, I'll end this post here will chat again tomorrow... God bless, friends!

and oh, I am open for link exchanges since it's the new year, we all need some more new friends out there. just comment if you want to exchange linkies ok? xoxo

I was about to go to work when I decided to drop by our mailbox, I saw a key and I just knew something spectacular is waiting for me in the other mailbox. It's so exciting receiving something from friends.. and yep, just as I anticipated.. A BOX! when I opened it.. it was just too cute! thank you Lhyz so much for the wonderful engraved jewelry box, you didn't have to, my friend... mwahh

I'm off today but I still need to do a lot of things on my list. We had a great simple new year. Hubby shopped and filled our pantry and fridge with lots of food, he told me eventhough we're not rich we'll never go hungry and as long as our family is complete we'll remain happy and blessed forever. he's such a great man, I tell ya. The 30th hubby woke us up and we ate at Denny's for breakfast around 7:00 am, it was still way too dark at that time, I felt like it was 5:30 in the morning. after that we went to Don Quijote to shop for fruits and other stuff.

here's my fruit bowl. the fruit bowl was a gift from my secret Santa, it has a wreath design, so cute.

around the afternoon hubby wanted to drive around the Island, because he wanted to eat some freshly harvested shrimps at kahuku, the last time we went there was around 2003. So We did, It was very nice driving around the island, It was terrific. We had the longest drive, we drove the whole kamehameha highway just to reach Kahuku. We were trying to find Romys shrimp shack, that's where we ate the last time we were there. It's been a long time since we last saw the place so my hubby was about to give up and turn around and go back to Honolulu, When we went through the Tetsuo harano tunnel (that's not our video, by the way) the scenic point was just awesome! I'll post pictures later... good thing we stopped by this Shrimp truck when we arrived at kahuku, boy we were hungry from that long drive!

It was a graffiti type of truck, where everyone who eats there gets to have their John Hancock on it. as well the tables, too... here's a funny one.

At long last, our lunch has arrived. dig in! yummmmm....

Ok, enough for this long post, I hope I didn't bore ya. I made a new theme, I missed Charmmy kitty, I love her so much, so I decided to make a change! pink, blue green... ahhh...

I'll update my multiply later, for now I gotta get some chores finished. hope you guys had a blastful new year! happy 2008, everyone! thank you for all the greetings!

Jon's birthday + christmas cards

first of all thank you for all the wonderful birthday greetings for my hubbykins, I really appreciate it very much. I'm a bit sad coz I missed a lot of opps, some already been expired on me, how sad... so anyways, I have to catch up with everything. So much has happened but I'll do it one a time. So, guess what we had for for Jon's birthday? hahaaa- HAM! yep, he decided to give it a go for the yummy spiral ham we had in the fridge, that was supposed to be for christmas but I guess we'll have to cook something else by then.

And I baked him a devil's food chocolate cake topped with chocolate frosting and marshamallows. When he came home for work We went to the movies, my treat and we watched "I am Legend", It was a pretty good movie if you ask me since I love movies that make you jump (lol) but the birthday boy wasn't really happy with the outcome of the movie, it wasn't exactly spectacular the way he expected it to be. I told him that he should not be expecting a lot from a movie and it's not his kind of movies either that's why he was a bit upset. he doesn't have to be upset since it was my treat, but we had to say goodbye to $38.00 since that was supposed to be (paid posts) money for gifts, oh well hahaha... that's the reason why we only go to the dollar movie theatre, coz when a movie comes out crappy your dollar is worth it, you don't need to weep hehee.

THANK YOU, LADIES!!!

I'll be posting them up in my gallery soon. thank you... for christmas cards, I am quite a bit upset coz I wasn't prepared to send a lot of greeting cards to friends, maybe next year... I only sent to some close family members and online friends, now If I ask your home addy doesn't mean I want something back ok? I just wanna send a card from the bottom of my heart, if you know what I mean.... have a wonderful day, guys... God bless!

a stinky situation

Oh gosh, my mom is currently cooking Danggit and it stinks like hell! She just opened the bedroom door which I am currently finishing a few pending tasks, I didn't know she was cooking it, oh golly it sure stinks. I love danggit very much but that one.. phew.. anyways, my mom informed me that she has to stop cooking it or else our neighbors will protest (lol) I wish we live in a regular house, so we can do whatever we want, here in the condo we're very much intimidated to cook dried fish like daing and tuyo lol. So afraid they will smell it. I told her it'll be fine as long as she opens the windows and turns on the exhaust fan. oh, I just heard the click of the stove being turned off, thank good ness! I remembered this one hispanic lady at work was sitting down and eating lunch with me, one of the baggers came in and opened her tupperware which filled the room with the smell of bagoong and tuyo, somthing like that. As soon as the lady went to the bathroom... boy, my co worker gave a stink eye towards the tupperware. I told her why don't she move into the next break room if it really stank so bad, but she told me she'll stay because the time she moves in the next break room her 15 minutes will be over. hehee, so funny!

great monday

hubby surprised me last night with 2 dvd's, he actually went in to get a month's movie pass coz he sure knows how a movie freak I am. so yeah, movie marathon, baby! I loved 1408, creeped me out a bit, imagine having a room like that in some hotel, brrrr give me the shivers. I don't even want to think about it. It's a nice movie, one of Stephen King's stories I just love Stephen King =). So is Evan Almighty, what a wacky movie... I just love the part how the birdies pooped all at the same time at congressman chuck Long hahaa, hilarious! and of course the A-R-K, One Act, of, Random, Kindness...

So how are we doing today? I myself is doing pretty good, thank you. me and hubby watched some dvd's today, surf's up and the season 6 of SMALLVILLE! wooohoooo I just love the new season, it's getting better and better (sigh) can't get enough of it. I just wanna share some pics.

What is it, you asked? why It's Poi, and it's delicious (yum) you can read all about it at this site

It's my first time eating it eversince I came to Hawaii, to some people that aren't from here it's yucky tasting, for me It's not bad since I love potatoes and Taro (gabi) It tastes much better with coconut milk and sugar it's a wee bit like ginataan. hubby came from work with that huge bag and you and a small bag of Poi from local stores here are soooo darn expensive. anyways, we grocery shopped at Pacific Market (asian store) yesterday at Waipahu, I just had to take a quick snap at the birds who just flew from the top, once in awhile birds can get in stores and have the time of their life. NOW, that explains the holes in some rice bags (lol)

Also had a delicious Opelu (galunggong) for lunch, poor hubby had choked with a fish bone, poor thing...

I am soooo happy a post of mine got auto approved at ppp, so this is the feeling you guys get, huh? =D I'm tempted to do another blog... but, let's all just stick to this one, shall we? I don't how you guys do it, but I salute you all for managing mulltiple blogs =D

I bid you all goodnight for it's 9:18 pm Hawaii time. you all have a great night/day wherever you are! God bless!

Monday recap

We had a great day yesterday, started with clothes shopping because we have to attend a wedding on October 7, Went to Pearlridge mall and watched The movie Resident evil kicks *** (lol) we had a free ticket from the dvd set that we bought for 13 bucks, not bad. hubby stayed at home coz he just wanted to relax and not stress. Then went to Wal-mart and Kmart scouting for a cheap stand fan, I was supposed to buy the remote controlled one for 30+ hubby wanted more cheaper than that =/ so we ended up going straight home coz my lil boy is driving me nuts while I was driving, luckily I'm so immune to his crying. he was crying coz he wanted to buy the spiderman suit he saw at Wal-mart but since they did't have any of his size we just left the store. geez, he was crying the whole trip! golly, I concentrated more on the music playing to keep my driving at bay. (lol).

ate fried bangus for lunch. onions and tomatoes on the side, yum.

made empanada for dinner. but the empanadas didn't look empanadas at all =P but it was yummy though. They turned out to look like croissants and oversized doughnut rolls.

my key lime pie

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!! HAVE FUN EVERYONE!!!

I tried making dessert, I made a key lime pie and it came out just fine. yummy. It has that lil tangy taste to it. mom loved it very much and insisted I make it often so we can just put it in the fridge. I love making desserts and It's my first time making this kind of pie. hehee I bought the key lime at Pacific market and I thought they would taste like calamansi but I guess not =/

ingredients:
key lime juice (3 pc squeezed into cup)
1 whole tub of whipped cream (thawed)
1 can of condensed milk
1 9" premade pie shell

mix key lime juice into condensed milk and whipped cream, add grated keylime peel into mixture. beat well until smooth and fine. pour into pie shell and chill.

Well, It may not taste good for a lot of you, but it's a very yummy dessert and so easy to make. ok, gotta run have to pick up hubby in an hour, I have to cook his last minute dinner Longganisa. mahalo!
