Would like to say thank you to the following ladies who gave these wonderful gifts for christmas...
I was about to go to work when I decided to drop by our mailbox, I saw a key and I just knew something spectacular is waiting for me in the other mailbox. It's so exciting receiving something from friends.. and yep, just as I anticipated.. A BOX! when I opened it.. it was just too cute! thank you Lhyz so much for the wonderful engraved jewelry box, you didn't have to, my friend... mwahh
I'm off today but I still need to do a lot of things on my list. We had a great simple new year. Hubby shopped and filled our pantry and fridge with lots of food, he told me eventhough we're not rich we'll never go hungry and as long as our family is complete we'll remain happy and blessed forever. he's such a great man, I tell ya. The 30th hubby woke us up and we ate at Denny's for breakfast around 7:00 am, it was still way too dark at that time, I felt like it was 5:30 in the morning. after that we went to Don Quijote to shop for fruits and other stuff.
here's my fruit bowl. the fruit bowl was a gift from my secret Santa, it has a wreath design, so cute.
around the afternoon hubby wanted to drive around the Island, because he wanted to eat some freshly harvested shrimps at kahuku, the last time we went there was around 2003. So We did, It was very nice driving around the island, It was terrific. We had the longest drive, we drove the whole kamehameha highway just to reach Kahuku. We were trying to find Romys shrimp shack, that's where we ate the last time we were there. It's been a long time since we last saw the place so my hubby was about to give up and turn around and go back to Honolulu, When we went through the Tetsuo harano tunnel (that's not our video, by the way) the scenic point was just awesome! I'll post pictures later... good thing we stopped by this Shrimp truck when we arrived at kahuku, boy we were hungry from that long drive!
It was a graffiti type of truck, where everyone who eats there gets to have their John Hancock on it. as well the tables, too... here's a funny one.
At long last, our lunch has arrived. dig in! yummmmm....
Ok, enough for this long post, I hope I didn't bore ya. I made a new theme, I missed Charmmy kitty, I love her so much, so I decided to make a change! pink, blue green... ahhh...
I'll update my multiply later, for now I gotta get some chores finished. hope you guys had a blastful new year! happy 2008, everyone! thank you for all the greetings!
christmas eve recap
Christmas was great, I had to work christmas eve but luckily our store closed around 3:00 so we went home around 5:30. This was my crew that day, and we had fun, too. It was a busy day but we still got to prepare food like chinese chicken salad, bbq chicken, african chiken curry, some haupia pie and lumpia. picture from left to right, that's me, Leona (filipina), Dawn(korean), center is ate Ana (filipina), Khadijah (african). We did ok that day, thank God. and so that night I took a last pic of our tree....
As we were waiting for 12:00 MN we had a call from my auntie-in-law from San Diego, she didn't sound good.. when my hubby finished talking to her we just learned his auntie from the Philippines just had a stroke and they rushed her in the Hospital in Manila. and then a few hours later we also learned that they did a brain surgery on her, how sad... we were so sad from that news, midnight came we had to forget about it even for a few minutes. my husband loved that auntie of his very much, her children grew up with them in the same house so it was a very tragic moment knowing about that. and yesterday when I cam home from work my mom told me that they are deciding to pull the plug on her. I was shocked to hear that... she's now in her critical condition and we all know once you have brain surgery there's not enough left in your life anymore... so pls. pray for my husband's auntie... we were all dearly close to her... we're all so sad by the news, terribly.. that's why I cannot post more pics right now... my SIL in korea can't make it to go back home in the Philippines, even us we can't afford to leave now... I hope they can understand our situation.

All Hallow's Eve
awwooooooo! did everyone have a safe trick or treating? I surely hope so. We just got back a few hours ago, we actually left the house around 7:00 pm because unfortunately the day didn't turn out as well as we expected it to be. can't you believe it RAINED?! yes, it rained so Our plans of going out to trick or treat at the mall was also postponed because of this! see? rain and traffic, what a great combination! we were all disappointed since we would love to take lil Nate out trick or treating, so they slept for about 2 hours, and woke up around 6:45, traffic finally subsided, I don't know if there was an accident on the freeway or what I tried searching for it in the news, coz the freeways are all packed, I even checked the Hononolulu traffic cam online to see how's the bumper to bumper traffic.
so anyways, after the rain stopped we saw children finally coming out of their houses dressed in their costumes, we decided to give it a go. sadly after 2 houses it started raining bad again! bummer. off we went to Pearlridge mall, but unfortunately they were already done giving away candy, rats. so we went back home again but decided to past by a few houses, thank goodness Nathan collected enough candies, his pumpkin wasn't that full but it was all good, it started to rain hard again (oh golly) what a Halloween night we had. It's so funny coz while I was walking a girl passed by me staring at my lighted horns "I love your horns!" and she couldn't stop staring at it, her costume was also a she devil but her horns doesn't light up hehee.

Thank you so much for all those who gave Halloween gifts, I'm currently finishing my gift section so I'll feature them all there. I have a new layout, say bye bye to the Halloween decorations, come in warm colors... thanksgiving is almost near and I can just feel the coziness of everything.
